Teofilo Chacin went to high school in Venezuela and in 1978 moved to to Atlanta Georgia (USA) to study English and finish High School (East Lansing High).
Then he went Lansing Community College (1984)where he had the opportunity to do radio work as a DJ. Creator of the "Latinamerican Hour". This was an opportunity to express himself and show his Latin music side.
Then Southern Illinois University at Carbondale said yes to his application and he went to the school of Communication in the Radio and Television department. He had the opportunity to have a TV show at the local cable public access.
At SIU, his teacher Randy said "Teo would never mount to anything". The dollar exchange in 1988 made him go back to Venezuela where he found a job at a local Premium Movie Channel. Later this company became what is today HBO Group Latinoamerican. This is the place where he was able to work hands on editing, producing, directing and writing.
Then moved again to Atlanta in 1996 to work for LAPTV. Company that broadcasts 5 movie channels to Latin America.
In 1998, he met with other friends to come up with a new show "My Other Half" to fill the gap that Salsa show left behind from the local PBS station. Formed a company in 2000 and today continues to promote the show and he is working as a freelance editor and filmmaker. One is Orange where work as a editor and sound design and recently in the short film "Sacred Place" as a camera operator and producer.
Teo has been able to work close at some point with stars from radio, television and music. Fabiola Colenares, Waldemaro Martinez, Ivan Loscher, Henrique Lazo, Mónica Montañés Chalbaud, Alfonso Molina, Dameliz Diaz, Jesus Leandro, El Pollo Sifontes, Franco Devita, Juan Lucks to name a few.
