Soviet documentary film operator, front-line cameraman during the Great Patriotic War. Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree (1946 - posthumously). Mariya Ivanova Sukhova began working in cinema in 1930 as a rewinder at the Moscow newsreel studio. From 1934 - assistant cameraman, in 1941-1944 - front-line operator of film groups in partisan detachments. She died during a breakthrough by partisan brigades on the night of May 5, 1944, of the Nazi German blockade of the Polotsk-Lepel partisan zone in the Ushach rayon, Vitebsk oblast, Belarus.
