Alan Le May was a novelist, short-story writer and screenwriter, although today he may be best remembered for his novels which served as the basis for two classic westerns, The Searchers (1956) and The Unforgiven (1960). He started his career as a journalist before becoming a full-time author (he wrote 17 novels in all).- Raimund Gessner was born on 18 January 1901 in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany. He was an actor, known for A Modern Du Barry (1926) and Dance Fever (1925). He died on 27 April 1964 in München, Germany.
