- One of Holland's most successful and beloved stage actresses. She played many roles on stage till her retirement in 1958. She married famous Dutch stage actor Jean Louis Pissuisse. In 1919, while married to her, Pissuise started an affair with young Belgian stage actress Jenny Gilliams, and the two had a daughter in 1920. Although this was a big scandal at the time, Carelsen stayed married to Pissuise. Five years later, the couple divorced and Pissuise married his co-star Jenny Gilliams. In 1927, both Jean Louis Pissuisse and his young wife Jenny were shot by Jenny's jealous secret lover. After that Fie Carelsen took care of the daughter of the couple. In 1970, she bought the grave of her former husband and his wife and was buried in that same grave, after her death in 1975.
