- Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Carl Betz formed a repertory theatre company while still in high school, then worked in summer stock. He served in the U.S. Army during the Second World War, then attended Carnegie Tech. Following graduation, he worked as a radio announcer. He made his Broadway debut in "The Long Watch". He was given a contract at Twentieth Century-Fox, and appeared in supporting roles in a number of films before moving into television. After a brief period working in soap operas, he was cast as Dr. Alex Stone on the popular The Donna Reed Show (1958) and spent eight years there. He followed that show with another series, Judd for the Defense (1967), in which he played a masterful attorney. He worked primarily in television, in both guest appearances and TV movies, throughout the Seventies, though he continued to work on stage around the U.S. He fought a gallant fight against early cancer and died in 1978.

Junius Matthews was born Junius Conyers Matthews on June 12, 1890 in Illinois. He was determined to become a popular radio and television actor. He started out on stage, and got his first role in the classic The Silent Witness (1917), as Bud Morgan. Before the movie The Wizard of Oz (1939), he did the voice of the Tin Woodman on radio. He appeared in many movies, but he became really popular for the role of Rabbit in Winnie the Pooh movies from 1966 to 1977, such as Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966). In 1977, he did the voice of Rabbit in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977). He still did the voice although he was already 87. On January 18, 1978, he died at age 87 of natural causes.- Mariya Grigoryan was born on 19 June 1894 in Tiflis, Tiflis Governorate, Russian Empire [now Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia]. She was an actress, known for Sevil (1929) and Meksikakan diplomatner (1932). She died on 18 January 1978 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR, USSR [now Armenia].

Alvarenga was born on 22 May 1911 in Itaúna, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He was a composer and actor, known for Abacaxi Azul (1944), Cousas Nossas (1931) and Laranja-da-China (1940). He died on 18 January 1978 in São Paulo, SP, Brazil.
