- One of Australia's best loved character actresses until her untimely death in 1992, Gerda was born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1937 to parents in the theatrical profession. Despite being surrounded by actors during her childhood, Gerda studied architecture and worked as a draughtsperson whilst living in London from 1958 to 1961. Returning to Australia, Gerda became involved in amateur dramatics before turning professional with a national tour of "A Woman In A Dressing Gown," followed by several prestigious stage performances with the Melbourne Theatre Company. Gerda also established her leading lady potential on TV, firstly as farmer's wife Fiona Davies in the country drama "Bellbird" and later in the cult series "Prisoner", in which she played Ann Reynolds, the spirited, liberal-minded governor of Wentworth Detention Centre from 1983 to its end in 1986. After "Prisoner", Gerda continued to appear in TV with a brief but memorable guest role in "Neighbours" and in the mini-series "Bangkok Hilton" alongside Denholm Elliott and Nicole Kidman, as well as working on the stage.

Renie (pronounced 'Renay') was a prolific American costume designer who was trained at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and at UCLA before serving her apprenticeship as a theatrical set designer. She then became a sketch artist for MGM and Paramount. In 1936, she joined RKO, where she worked on anything from the Mexican Spitfire (1939) and "The Falcon" series to big budget films like Kitty Foyle (1940), elegantly attiring stars like Ginger Rogers. After leaving RKO, Renie worked for 20th Century Fox from 1950 to 1954, then free-lanced. She was involved in the development of Disneyland as its original costume designer, for example, designing the gowns for Slue Foot Sue and the Can Can girls at the "Golden Horseshoe" in Frontierland.
Nominated for five Academy Awards, she finally won an Oscar for her work on the stunning costumes of Cleopatra (1963), in collaboration with star designer Irene Sharaff. One of the founders and past presidents of the Costume Designers Guild, she later taught in Los Angeles.- Actor
