Yolande Turner was born on 12 December 1935 in South Africa. She was an actress and writer, known for The Avengers (1961), Bad Girls (1994) and Department S (1969). She was married to Peter Finch. She died on 6 November 2003 in London, England, UK.- Leading man of the American stage who played occasional character roles in film and television. England was a native of King's Mountain, North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He made his Broadway debut in 1958, directed by Alfred Drake in "Love Me Little." He followed this with a success in "Say, Darling", written and directed by Abe Burrows, whom England credited as his mentor. He understudied Robert Morse in the lead of "How to Succeed in Business...Without Really Trying", playing Jenkins for a year on Broadway and then taking the lead role of J. Pierpont Finch in the national touring company. He starred on Broadway in Edna St. Vincent Millay's "Conversations at Midnight" in 1964 and appeared in three plays in the inaugural season of the Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park in New York. He moved to California in the early 1960s and guest-starred in numerous television programs. A longtime member of the Actors Studio, he also spent years as a member of Theatre West, in Hollywood, performing in scores of plays there. His life partner for forty years was producer Fred W. Bennett. England died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, of a heart attack at 71.

He died on 6 November 2003 in Laguna Beach, California, USA.- Champion swimmer Rie Mastenbroek was born Hendrika Wilhelmina Mastenbroek on February 26, 1919 in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Rie began swimming under the coaching of "Ma" Braun. Mastenbroek won three gold medals and a silver medal at the European Championships in 1934. At age seventeen Rie won three additional gold medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics held in Berlin, Germany in the 100 meters freestyle, 400 meters freestyle, and the 4x100 meters freestyle. Moreover, Mastenbroek won a silver medal after she finished second behind teammate Neda Senff in the 100 meters backstroke. Mastenbroek became a swimming instructor the following year; this caused her to lose her amateur status and thus made herself ineligible to participate in further competitions. However, during her brief, yet impressive athletic career Rie nonetheless broke nine world records, with six for backstroke and three for freestyle. Mastenbroek was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1968 and received the Olympic Order in Silver in 1997. Rie died at age 84 on November 6, 2003.
