Eivor Burbeck, born 1926, in Stockholm, was a Swedish filmmaker, poet and writer. She studied humaniora at Stockholm University; her subjects were French, Nordic languages and literary history - and she became interested in the arts early on. She danced for choreographer Birgit Åkesson, wrote poetry and cultural criticism, translated, watched films and studied art. Burbeck traveled a lot, a lot in the company of Lennart Rodhe, to whom she was married during the period 1945-1951. She also often traveled together with Rut Hillarp, as described by Birgitta Holm in her large Hillarp biography. Burbeck published a noted collection of poems on Bonnier's publishing house in 1954, "Skrattmåsens legeringar". She came early in contact with the Swedish Experimental Film Studio, later named Arbetsgruppen För Film, where she became a diligent participant in all kinds of activities. She introduced films and wrote in program sheets, but also made her own shorts. In 1951 she made "Sykadora" with Åke Danneberg as photographer, and in 1954 she produced "Iris" with Mihail Livada and Lennart Johansson behind the camera. Together with P.O. Grönstrand she also planned a film about Carl Fredrik Hill with the working title "Den sjuke Hill". However, it was never realized.
