Acting now as his slave Balaoo kills a man for the poacher, but balks on his orders to kidnap Madeleine, deciding instead to set a trap for the poacher.
- Rancher Clay Travers finds and brings in the body of ranger Frank Mattison, murdered on the road to Trail City, where he had been sent to deal with an outbreak of cattle rustling. Businessman Art Kenyon, who has hired gunman Ed Martin to impersonate Mattison to further his rustling schemes, quickly changes Martin's story and has Travers framed for the ranger's murder. Managing to escape, Travers must come up with proof to clear his name and bring the true killers to justice.
- Hounded by a passel of bounty hunters, smooth-talking bandit Montero and his deaf-mute sidekick Colosso, arrive in town intent on robbing a bank belonging to the smarmy Lucius Perkins. Montero becomes distracted, however, with the plight of lovely music teacher Helen Wardell, who is pining away for the poor, but handsome, dirt-farmer Bill Howard. Things heat up when Perkins, himself enamored of Helen, offers Montero $1250 to kill Howard.
- Lamont Cranston, aka the Shadow, has his hands full as the murder of blackmailing reporter Jeff Mann is blamed on him. Not only does the real murderer seem one step ahead of him as Lamont tries to discover his identity, but he is continually hampered from gaining crucial evidence by his jealous, interfering fiancée Margo Lane. Cranston perseveres and is rewarded with the clue he needs at one of Mann's victims' nightclubs.
- A Jewish prince seeks to find his family and revenge himself upon his childhood friend who had him wrongly imprisoned.
- Intent on avenging his father's murder, Roy Neal and his sidekick Rusty find themselves in the border town of Gladstone where Neal is mistakenly arrested for the robbery of a mail truck. After escaping, Neal joins up with pretty June Bowers whose father has apparently also been murdered. Neal, suspecting two of the town's leading businessmen of being the murderers, tries to flush them out before the sheriff can lock him up again.

They now have the men they need but one of the prisoners is a double-crosser secretly working for Wade.
- Government agent Red Barton is sent to a small western town to find both the source of a recent series of gold robberies and the method they use to get the gold out of the county unseen. Complicating matters is the arrival of pretty Barbara Morgan who has come to claim her inheritance - the ranch the outlaw gang is using for their headquarters.

After hiring on as Rankin's new take-charge foreman, matters become more complicated as Galloway learns that Rankin has used Rita, his vampish girl friend, to dupe the governor's son into becoming partners in Rankin's schemes, which Rankin could later use to blackmail the governor, should the need arise.

After discovering the nesters, pretty Betty Powell and her rickety old father, are incapable of rustling, Tom instead turns his attention to the huge, swaggering bully of a foreman, Nate Lenox.

- Bad seed Steve Taylor is pulled out of a saloon by his brother Tim after Steve kills cheating poker player Hoyt Parker in self defense. Steve, who's been financing his gambling addiction with money from his fiancée, is convinced by Tim to give himself up for trial. Found guilty without crucial testimony of his innocence by saloon girl Flora Trigby, who has fled to Mexico, the two brothers make their getaway to a secret hideout, where Tim heads out to find Flora. Tim's enthusiasm for protecting his brother lessens when he returns with Flora and learns someone matching Steve's description has held up the stage and killed passenger Nash Prescott, Parker's co-partner and Steve's chief accuser at the trial.
- In a fight with rustlers, rancher Steve Condon is led to believe he has killed one of his own cowhands, Bud Mathews. Actually it was a bullet from the rustler leader, Cass Clantine, that brought Mathews down. Repentant, Steve, with his pal, Pop Norton, leaves for Encintas, where Bud's family lives. Arriving there, he learns that cowhands don't stay long at the Mathews Ranch, the Cicrle M. Steve and Pop meet John Mathews and his daughter Molly and are hired as punchers. Steve decides to postpone his disclosure that he killed Bud. Cass and Scar Atwood arrive in town and join forces with rancher Sam Gorman, who is secretly trying to gain control of the Circle M. Gorman sends them out to get jobs on the ranch, and they recognize Steve although he hadn't seen them in the earlier gunfight. Steve finds that a rustled herd of cattle has been driven across the Mathews property, which is right on the border, into Mexico. He suspects that Gorman is the man behind the mystery, Returning to the ranch, he finds Cass and Scar annoying Molly and, in the ensuing fight, Scar denounces Steve as the man who killed Molly's brother. Before Steve can explain, Mathews orders him off the ranch. Later, Cass and Scar quarrel and Cass shoots Scar. Steve makes Scar think he is dying and Scar confesses everything to Steve, Pop, and Sheriff Ware. Meanwhile, Gorman and his gang head for the Mathews ranch to force the old man to sign over his property.
- Bids submitted to win the U.S. Mail contract for their stagecoach lines are entered by Banton brothers Roy and Bart, and singing cowboy Bill Harkins. During a stagecoach race to determine who is awarded the contract, Roy, fueled by his greed as well as his desire for Bill's lady friend, resorts to sabotaging his rival's rig in order to win. Bill, having an idea who is behind a recent rash of stagecoach robberies, devises a plan to catch the highwaymen, although not before he is himself arrested for robbery and murder, having been seen committing the crime by impartial eye witnesses.

Mason helps her out during an ambush and, gaining her confidence, hears her side of the story - that tax collector Ott Ramsey, in cahoots with the law, is illegally increasing taxes on ranches and foreclosing on them, and was responsible for the murder in question. Learning she's telling the truth, Mason tries to put her under protective custody but must change his plans when Ramsey and his gang kidnap her and plan her murder.

Some time later Eric abandons her and, falling on hard times, Eleanor is forced to take shelter in a chamber of horrors. Eric, acting on a bet made with his unsavory friends, enters the same chamber of horrors and their unexpected meeting produces grisly results.
- For the last four years Margaret Holt has been helping her brother, assistant D.A. Victor Holt, to try to bring down the dope dealing Schemer Marko gang. Margaret kills Marko (aka 'James Morton') when he discovers she's found evidence to use against him. Looking for someplace to hide out, she flees to a local house for disadvantaged women. Her secret is discovered by gossip columnist John Howell and crotchety old mystery writer Winthrop Clavering, who concoct a plan to try to clear Margaret of the crime and, at the same time, capture the Marko gang, who have since kidnapped Victor and are now hot on Margaret's trail as well.

Laura is unaware that Willi must either pay his debt by the next day or take the only other honorable way out: committing suicide.

Telling the visitor that a cure for insanity has been found by cutting out an eye of the patient and then slitting his throat, the "director" hurries into another room, reemerges with blood all over his hands and, as blood seeps from beneath the door, incites other inmates who now surround the visitor.
