- When the brilliant but unorthodox scientist Dr. Victor Frankenstein rejects the artificial man that he has created, the Creature escapes and later swears revenge.
- A gangster attempts to keep the promise he made to his dying father: that he would give up his life of crime and "go straight".

There is one threat that the Doctor hasn't banked on - Helen A's prized chief executioner, a crazed android and creator of killer confectionery. This robotic menace is known only as The Kandy Man, and he's not one to be trifled with.

Arthur drinks the water and recovers but Merlin discovers the witch was not lying - his mother is consequently endangered. This will lead to the greatest ever test of both his emotions and his magic powers as he returns for a last show-down with Nimueh.
- The Ood have given a warning to The Doctor. The Master is returning yet that is not the biggest threat. A darkness is coming which brings with it The End of Time.
