- Dedicated young Inspector Bradley of Scotland Yard is on the trail of Mark McGill, murderous ringleader of a smuggling organization in London. Hindering his investigation is pretty Ann Perryman who has been convinced by McGill that Bradley is responsible for her brother's death. In reality McGill has murdered her brother, which Bradley is trying to prove.
- When Suzanne is kidnapped by escaping jewel thieves, Jeff and the police must find a way of catching up with them before it is too late for Suzanne.
- The Checkmate team has big trouble when Joe Farrell and his gang of hoods take them hostage at gunpoint. Farrell wants Don Corey to bring his estranged wife Jean and some stolen money he hid in her apartment to a boat where he intends skipping the country. If Don fails, both Jed and Dr. Hyatt, held hostage in their separate homes, will be killed. Farrell can't go for Jean himself, as rival gangsters are out after him; to complicate things even more, Farrell has a traitor in his gang trying to intercept Don and Jean who are desperately trying to bring the money to the appointed meeting in time to save Jed and Dr. Hyatt.
- When wealthy widow Beatrice Martin Kipp hires Checkmate, Jed and Dr. Hyatt must travel with her to her ranch to discover who is trying to kill her.
- Checkmate has more than one mystery to solve when they are hired by an unknown client to protect an unknown victim from an unknown killer at Felicia Royden's remote estate. Jed and Dr. Hyatt, posing as servants for the family, are puzzled by Mrs. Royden's strange little girl, Carol, who apparently makes up wild stories for no reason, but they soon begin to think Carol may hold the key to the mystery.
- The Checkmate boys have their hands full in protecting their client Danny Whitman from racketeer Frank Marsdon when Danny starts a one-man crusade against the crime king-pin and his wife. Marsdon's drunken wife, Corinne, killed two people in a car accident, and Danny, determined not to see justice thwarted by Marsdon's threats and bribes, continues to publicize the accident and subsequent trial on his television show, gaining for him the animosity of Frank Marsdon. What Checkmate doesn't know is that Danny has now become a pawn in another person's scheme against Marsdon, doubling the danger for him.
- While leaving a restaurant, Captain Holbrook and a waitress are taken prisoner by homicidal maniac Vince Treynor, who is intent on killing Holbrook that night at the same time his brother dies in the electric chair. The police officer who arrested the condemned man was - Captain Holbrook.
- When Japanese war criminal Colonel Okumara slips into Hong Kong to recover stolen treasure he appropriated during the war, he soon leaves a trail of murder behind him for Glenn Evans to follow.
- Glenn finds himself in the middle of a carefully prepared murder frame and must stay ahead of the police to find the real killer and clear himself.
- When Jill Kelly, an old flame of Jim's, comes into his life again, she asks his help in testing a new kind of parachute she feels will be worth much money if perfected. Ted, however, feels the chute is impractical and unsafe, and tries to keep Jim from falling prey to Jill's persuasions, who ultimately cares more for her money plans than for Jim's life.
- Ripcord is hired by a team of uranium prospectors to drop supplies to them, but when Ted and Jim are about to make the drop, they notice all three men sprawled on the ground below them. Concerned, Ted jumps in to investigate and encounters a deadly welcome at the camp.
- When Ted and Jim angrily flunk radar operator Bill Kirk from their sky diving school, they little dream they will have to put their lives in his hands to effect a daring rescue of a downed pilot and his little daughter in dangerous fog, guided only by radar.
- Chuck Lambert, Ripcord's pilot, is in serious trouble when his plane crashes and the man he was flying is killed. Drugs were found in Chuck's possession, yet he insists the drugs were his passenger's who also caused the crash, but unless Jim and Ted can help, the dead man's brother will see Chuck grounded and prosecuted.
- While instructing their pretty client Tanya Rovag, Ted and Jim become involved in trying to save her father's life from assassination by Communists, who are unwilling to let him publish the political exposé he has been secretly writing in the mountains.
- Speed Domaine, an old soldier Ted and Jim know from the army, wants his son Billy to learn sky-diving to prove he's a man, in spite of Billy's resistance to the idea. But when they jump into a canyon the army uses for target practice and Speed breaks his leg, Billy, wins new respect from his father by saving the old man's life, with the help of Ripcord.
