Blue becomes enraged when Miriam reads from the New Testament. Ron orders Lance to keep an eye on Russ and says they have to keep him on a tight leash so that he do find out they're holding Miriam for ransom. Terry wonders if Lori is beginning to remember events of her attack. Ben discovers Lori missing from the house.
- Ben and Terry panic over a missing Lori. Dave recounts for Ione how his drinking resulted in the death of his son Kevin, the anger of his daughters Amber and Stacey, and the divorce of his wife Kate, all of whom he wants to reconcile. Amber pushes Stacey around at lunch and argues with her about Dave who she says she will never forgive for destroying their family. Gil and Marianne meet Stacey when Gil stops to chat up Amber at the Greenbriar. Lori visits the condo and begins to have bad memories of events preceding her attack. Ben finds Lori. She tells him what she has remembered but cries that she's afraid to recall anything else.
- Lance has the idea to make Russ beat up teenage hooker Paula who wants out of the business. Terry refuses Nancy's request that she co-sign a loan to pay her debts. Furious over Gene's story, Charles orders him to sue Redlon and the newspaper, but Harold can't since Miriam's disappearance is a matter of public record. Lance phones Charles with threats because he went to the press. Brubaker arrives to question Charles who feigns no knowledge of a kidnapping. Brubaker warns him that even if he pays the ransom and doesn't involve the police, the kidnappers might kill Miriam.
- When Vicki continues to hold up the permits for the Canterbury complex, Gil seriously considers going before the board of commissioners. Marianne questions Russ about his new job, but he remains quiet and asks her to trust him. Ron and Lance think they have Charles in the palm of their hand. Stacey meets Gene at the Chronicle and is stunned when he wonders if she's related to the Dave Phillips running the Chesterfield clinic. McGovern likes the story Gene has written about Miriam and decides to run it on the front page, arguing that all the publicity might expose the reason Charles has threatened to sue them if they run the story.
- Russ clashes with Lance and is manipulated by Ron into agreeing to teach hooker Paula a lesson. Vicki suggests Peter be more aggressive and she agrees to dinner and movie with him. Dave shares with Terry his fears that his family won't believe his life has changed because he accepted Christ. Russ goes to Paula's hotel but is unable to hurt her when he realizes she's just a frightened sixteen year old girl.
- Marianne realizes something has upset Russ and thinking he's doing something more noble for his father, she reassures him that she has faith he'll get the hang of his new job. Harold informs Chronicle editor McGovern of Charles' intent to sue, which only makes McGovern instruct Gene to dig even deeper for a story. Gene realizes that Miriam really has been kidnapped and Harold needs his help. After a visit to Dr. Dedrickson, Ben tells Terry that Lori could be on the verge of remembering her attack. Lori rejects Ben and feeling that he's pressuring her to be intimate with him, she screams at him to leave her alone.
- Harold informs Charles that his attempt to intimidate McGovern backfired, but his appeal to Gene to lay off the story for Miriam's sake might have worked. Lance goes to Paula's and forces her to admit that Russ failed to beat her up as instructed. Ben tells Terry he can't continue to reach out to Lori much longer. Charles loses his cool when Harold admits he's only come up with half of the ransom. Lance wants to know what Ron intends to do about Russ now that he's proven he can't handle a task as simple as scaring a teenage hooker.
- Russ stands up to Ron and Lance, who confront him over not roughing up Paula. Gil and Amber's lunch takes a cold turn when Dave arrives with Alex, and he spots Amber. Stacey meets Sgt. Brubaker in a professional capacity, but they're interrupted by a persistent Nancy. Amber threatens to call the restaurant manager and cause a scene if Dave doesn't leave her alone. Alex attempts to console Dave. Gil assures Marianne he's not going to hassle Russ if she wants to make the biggest mistake of her life with him. Blue becomes infuriated at Miriam's suggestion that Jesus loves him, and he violently warns her to never mention that name to him again.
- Miriam tries to convince Blue that God is real. Gene talks with Stacey about Dave, and she admits she wants to forgive him. Amber arrives during their conversation, eager to insist that Stacey join her in keeping Dave out of their lives permanently. Gil runs into Nancy who promises to push Vicki into speeding up the permits he needs for the Canterbury project. Helping out at the clinic, Lori becomes disturbed by Ione's talk of Carla's pregnancy. Blue goes to the clinic for a checkup with Dave and panics when he sees Lori behind the reception desk.
- When Dave forces Blue to meet Lori, she suddenly flashes back to the night he attacked her, and recalling him laughing and terrorizing her, she begins to scream and fight back. Ben and Dave attempt to subdue Blue, but he escapes in his car. Nancy laughs with Vicki about her encounter with Gil in which she tricked him into thinking she's going to help him, which will buy them time with the board of commissioners. Ione comforts an hysterical Lori, while Dave phones for Sgt. Brubaker. Blue flees back to his apartment where he panics over sounds of sirens from the street. Lori is unable to answer Brubaker's questions. Gene and Carla are stunned after Ione returns home with news of Lori and Blue. Ione is unable to persuade Gene from visiting the Davidsons for his newspaper story. Ben vows he'll take care of Blue if the police fail this time.
- The Davidsons decline Gene's request to speak with Lori. Ben promises Lori that she's waking up from a nightmare that's finally over. A panicked Blue confesses everything to Lance, unaware that Ron is present and listening to their conversation. Ben admits to Dave that he's prayed for four months to be able to personally apprehend and punish Blue. Vince laughs uproariously at Russ' comment about Marianne thinking they work for the government, but is more sober when cautioning him that he will soon learn exactly what his personal limits are. After hearing Blue's confession, Ron ascertains that the police likely can't trace him. He instructs Blue to return to his apartment and wait for Lance to bring him airline tickets to California. From there Ron's friends will transport him to Mexico. Feeling safe, Blue complies, though after he leaves, Ron orders Lance to follow him and kill him. Lori recalls everything about the attack until she went unconscious. Ben tells her that after she passed out, he arrived and fought with Blue, incurring the cut to his hand. Taking her in his arms, he gently reassures her that he arrived in time. The hospital performed every test on her and determined that Blue did not in fact rape her.
- Following a nightmare about Blue, Lori begs Ben to let her stay home instead of going to see Dr. Dedrickson, but Ben won't allow her to give in to her fears. Leon gives waitress Tammy pointers in public relations now that the diner is redecorated to attract a classier clientele. Gil mocks Marianne's belief in forgiveness. Ron becomes enraged over the composite sketch of Blue on the front page of The Chronicle, blaming Lance for all the mistakes that have been made. Lance has to tell Ron that Blue never went to back his apartment, though the police showed up. Ron reminds him that they're all living on credit until they can find Blue and kill him before he stupidly confesses to their kidnapping of Miriam.
- Amber annoys Stacey by being completely indifferent to Dave's work at the Chesterfield. Gil swears to Vicki he'll go to the board of commissioners with a complaint against her unless she has the Canterbury permits for him within two days. Stacey recounts for Gene Amber's non-reaction to the story about Dave, then she becomes introverted as he compares the two sisters. Gene wants to channel his anger over Lori's predicament into something productive, like finding Blue. Russ learns from Ron and Lance that Blue was the man who tried to rape Lori. Against Ron's wishes, Russ vows to find Blue and make him pay for what he's done. Ron warns him that he will face his face his father's wrath, and he alone will suffer the consequences if he's caught.
- Terry wants to speak with Harold concerning Nancy. Russ lashes out at Peter then swears the police won't have the satisfaction of taking care of Blue. Harold reluctantly agrees when Terry asks him to try one more time to get Nancy to sell her half of the house. Gil explains to Peter his romantic evening plans for Amber, which Peter later shares with Marianne. Harold attempts to talk with Nancy who dismisses him. Stacey and Amber are reunited and Gil sent home upon the surprise arrival of Kate Phillips. Stacey can't wait to tell her mother that Dave has returned, too. Vicki's soil analysis report shows that the foundation won't support the Canterbury complex. Realizing Gil would be destroyed if he built the complex and it collapsed, Nancy talks a reticent Vicki into composing a fake report supporting the complex's construction and forging the building commissioner's name to it.
- Kate is surprised by Dave's return and Stacey's insistence that he has become a new man. Amber does her best to deflect any positive talk of Dave by reminding everyone of all the things he did to hurt them. Russ searches Blue's apartment, finds his photographs, recalls kissing Lori, and awaits Blue with a gun. Stacey wants Kate to speak with Dave, though Amber says she'll do everything to stop it. Nancy types a new soil analysis and forges the commissioner's name. Babs puts her foot in her mouth about Mercy Hospital when she serves Ben and Lori in a diner where she's a waitress. and later she thinks Lori's purse is Miriam's. Kate gives Stacey her blessing to talk with Dave. Kate argues with Amber that forgiveness is wise, not naive. Peter irritates Vicki when he pulls away during a passionate kiss and won't sleep with her.
- Lori expresses her regret over not being a good wife to Ben, but Terry insists their marriage will be even stronger one day. Ben thinks Peter did the right thing by not going to bed with Vicki, though Peter says he was more than ready to and wants to see Vicki again. Lance nearly catches Miriam with Gabriel and takes her see Ron. Ben and Lori tell Terry about seeing Babs and her odd behavior over Miriam's purse. Ron goes through Miriam's purse and returns it to her without finding his ledger documents hidden in the lining. She lies to him that Lance has been a perfect gentleman with her. Later, when he returns her to the shed, he praises her for lying to Ron and shocks her by adding that it might buy her a little bit longer to live.
- McGovern won't allow Gene to back off the article detailing Miriam's disappearance. Stacey explains to Gene that it isn't easy for her to just drop by and see her father, though Gene assures her that he thinks Dave is sober and devises a way to give her the push she needs. Worried that she has a promotion coming and could lose her job, Vicki has second thoughts about her caper with Nancy; however Nancy already has a scheme to cover their tracks. Marianne blames Gil for not being able to find Russ. An outraged Ben angrily vows he'll never let Gene interview Lori. When Gil phones with continued threats, Vicki informs him that his Canterbury permits and soil analysis are ready.
- Nancy smiles with glee at Vicki's decision to give Gil the falsified soil analysis. Ben takes his troubles with Gene to work and Ione. Blue goes to Paula and terrifies her into giving him all her money. He promises to cut her up unless she brings him tonight's takes from her johns to Warehouse 19 on the docks. Ron rubs it in Lance's face that Russ is more determined than him and will find Blue first. One of Ron's informants planted at the Chesterfield as a patient reports back that Babs sent word to Ione, and they now know where she is. Ron orders Lance to kill her. A frustrated and increasingly violent Blue awaits Paula at Warehouse 19.
- When Russ knocks on Paula's door, she asks if it's Blue. Russ then forces her to tell him where Blue is waiting for her. After Ione defends Ben, Gene appreciates Terry's apology for Ben's rude outburst. Marianne is appalled at Gil's boastfulness when they meet Kate and Amber at the Greenbriar, and Kate sizes Gil up accurately. Dave tells Terry that Blue always seemed more like a frightened child than a vicious rapist. Dave comments to Ione that Terry reminds him of Kate. An armed Russ cautiously enters Warehouse 19 and makes his way through the darkness in search of Lance who is watching him from the shadows. Russ eventually locates him, with his back up against a wall, and says he's going to kill him for raping Lori. Blue counters that he can't kill him because he didn't rape Lori. In fact, he never had Lori, and neither did Russ. Caught off guard by the comment, Russ lowers his gun, giving Blue a chance to lunge for him. The two fall into boxes, locked in a struggle for possession of the gun. As they draw close together, a gunshot echoes through the empty warehouse as the stunned men stare wide-eyed at one another.
- Dan finds Julia in Nancy's hotel suite alone, and she gloats about the Davidsons setting him up. Courtney and Miriam are annoyed to learn Charles deceived Peter. Jeremy arrives to discuss the Dar Salaam bible with Charles, who is only concerned with its value, and Miriam who is happy to learn that Jeremy has studied the Bible. Gene and Carla talk over his visit with Claudia Schmidt and figure out that Sebastian Knight is the Knave of Hearts and quarreled with Kate about her potential to cause Lee Carothers to lose the election. Dave visits Stacey in jail. Nancy returns and is confronted by Dan.
- Dave and Terry meet with Jeremy and Charles to discuss the museum auction. Jeremy reveals that the bible was stolen from a Roman monastery in the 17th century and comes with both a curse and a blessing. Whomever has it is supposed to be blessed with great wealth but will die unless it's returned to the rightful owner. Charles leaves the meeting after sniping at Terry about Peter's attention to Courtney. Russ meets with Harold for advice about investing in art. Harold receives a visit from Sgt. Brubaker who informs the two men of recent developments regarding Sebastian. Russ wants Brubaker to search Amber's apartment for the missing slug that would prove the gun was fired twice, but Brubaker says he doesn't have enough probable cause. Peter pursues Courtney, who doesn't want to talk about the reason she has ignored his calls. He professes his love to her and offers to leave if she declares she doesn't love him, but she can't. As they're about to kiss, Vaughn walks in with an engagement ring. Caught in the middle, Courtney has reached a decision.
- Dan offers to take Nancy back if she apologizes to him for setting him up but fails to answer when she asks if he was only with her for the malpractice money. He laughs at the idea she will end up alone because she's physically and emotionally scarred. No other man will ever want her. Sgt. Brubaker is skeptical at first and then begins to see the logic in Gene's account of what Mrs. Schmidt witnessed the night of Kate's murder. Terry advises Peter about the gift of love from God. Dan goes to Ben and insinuates Nancy night attempt suicide again because of his interference. He further asks how Nancy will ever repay the legal fees she owes him. Ben threatens to report Dan's criminal behavior to the Bar Association if he tries to collect from Nancy, but Dan counter threatens to ruin Doug's career by exposing his plagiarism of a law thesis in school. Mrs. Schmidt identifies a photo of Sebastian as being the man she saw leaving Amber's apartment following the second gunshot that killed Kate.
- Preston wants to celebrate Vaughn's news of the engagement, but he wonders what will happen if Phyllis dies. Will Courtney stay with him? Blair declines searching Amber's apartment for Russ. Julia agrees to help Doug against Dan. When Courtney declares she loves Vaughn, but in a different way, he demands to know if she and Peter ever made love together. Doug gets the upper hand over Dan, who swears it isn't over. Russ is disturbed after spotting Jeremy at the bar and is leery of believing that he is Hugo Lancelot's twin brother. Jeremy apologizes for Lance's behavior and offers to verify the legitimacy of any art pieces Russ considers buying as an investment. Julia tells Nancy that Dan had planned to take all of her money in the malpractice suit once she deposited the money in their joint account. After Russ invites her to a movie to gain access to her apartment, Amber accepts but asks him to pick her up at the office instead.
- Courtney chooses a future with Vaughn, but Peter can't accept it and reminds her all is fair in love and war. Gene tries to stall McGovern on the crime commission report until he can get proof in the Sebastian angle of Kate's murder. Dave and Ben joke over Dave's decision to ask Terry out on a proper date. Ben breaks the news to Doug about Dan's threats to expose him, but Doug thinks he can beat Dan. Dan attempts to get rough with Nancy and cruelly throws her out of the hotel suite. Ione comes to Nancy's rescue and enjoys seeing Dan's face slapped. Gene persuades a very reluctant Russ to search for the second slug in Amber's apartment.
