When Kip Ryerson returns to town, David's mother demands that he keep his promise to avenge his father. As David pursues Ryerson, Mary meets Martha, his former wife, who confesses that David's father canceled the promise of revenge. Mary rushes to inform David, but she is too late. During a fight between the two men, Kip Ryerson falls to his death from a mountain cliff, bringing to fruition the seeds of vengeance.

Despite suffering from amnesia, Maggie agrees to renew her marriage vows with Chase. On the day, Angela pours her own brand of vitriol on the ceremony by bringing up Chase's "affair" with Connie Gianinni. Richard's would-be assassin tries again, but this time he springs a trap and captures them, revealing it to be someone he was very close to. Lance meets a singer called Apollonia.
- Lance pursues a professional and personal relationship with Apollonia and becomes her manager. But when he takes her to Falcon Crest, Angela disapproves. Lance gets Angela to give him the publisher's job at The New Globe back, on the proviso that he is given complete control. When Connie comes to dinner, it triggers Maggie's memory into returning. Richard risks his business at his racetrack.
