- This scene "Hauling in a Big Catch" or "Seining Salmon with Horses" is one of the most interesting subjects ever made. The Columbia River is the home of the king of all food fish (The Royal Chinook Salmon) and is found nowhere else. Here is shown a scene where they are using horses to drag in the heavy seines filled with salmon. The tide rises and falls and you see the horses along one of these bars up to the girth, splashing in the water, throwing the spray in every direction, thus making it a subject of more than usual interest. Very sharp and clear.
- This beautiful scene was taken along the Columbia River and shows the saucy old river on a rampage at the Dalles and then winds its way around towards the ocean, through tunnels, past Cape Horn, where the wind howls and whistles around their base even in the most quiet days in summer; then on, passing interesting points in rapid succession. We come to The Needles or Pillars of Hercules, then to Rooster Rock, where close to the bank can be noticed the dwellings of the fishermen, etc., etc., making this another gem our expert photographer secured along this wonderful river.
- This most interesting scene shows the fishermen arriving at the cannery with the boats loaded with their day's catch. The unloading at the cannery, hauling of the fish out of the boats into the canneries, making this a very animated scene, which to Easterners seems incredible as to the amount of fish is daily brought to the canneries.
- Fish traps along the Columbia River. Poles are driven, a twine net is dropped into the water and raised sufficiently high on the sides so the fish cannot jump out during high tide. Then a lead, as it is called, is built out for a number of rods from the opening of the traps. When the fish strike this lead, which is also made of twine netting, they feel along for a clear passage, raising higher from the bottom until finally they drop into the mouth of the trap and are prisoners, until they are finally boated away to the canneries. This scene shows the fishermen taking them out of the traps into the boat. The salmon can be seen in the water as the fishermen gather them in. A most interesting subject.

- This scene showing the fast flyer, The Chicago Portland Special, on the O. R. N. R'y. as it passes Rooster Rock on the Columbia River. - A scene never to be forgotten is one where the fishermen are hauling in the huge seines loaded with fish. An amusing incident occurred while the operator was taking this scene, and one that perhaps would not occur again in a hundred years. A large Chinook Salmon escaped by leaping out of the seine. Just as the fish was about to disappear, a dog jumped into the water, grabs the fish and then the tussle begins. The dog gets the best of the fish and drags him ashore in full view of everybody, after the seines have been hauled in. The climax is reached when the men remove the squirming fish from the seines to the boat. The animation is one that can hardly be described. Finally, after the fish have been taken out of the seines. One of the most interesting scenes on the Columbia River is the hauling in of the seines into the boats, and one never to be forgotten by those who have watched the fishermen pulling them in. Our photographer was fortunate in catching this just right, at the right time, so that we are able to give the exhibitor an exact reproduction of one of the most interesting scenes ever taken.
- A very interesting scene is to watch the fishermen after their day's work, overhauling their seines to see if they need mending, so as to be ready for the next day's catch. Here we show them at work mending them, also giving an idea of their great size, showing them fully strung out. This scene is one that will be fully appreciated by any audience.
- Trout on the Wind: the Hemlock Dam Removal Story highlights the successful removal of Hemlock dam and the restoration of Trout Creek in the lower Columbia River Gorge. The Hemlock Dam was a concrete structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps to provide power and irrigation for a work camp in the area. However, in the 1970s the dam became obsolete and had to be removed to improve water quality, habitat, and passage for Lower Columbia River steelhead. The dam was removed and the natural processes in the watershed were restored. This project brought the local community together and provided an excellent hands-on learning experience. With this project, the Columbia River Gorge is fast becoming the heart of modern day river restoration.
