- Set in the vineyards of California, this prime-time soap opera presented the conflict in the powerful Gioberti family, owners of the vast Falcon Crest Winery.
- During Prohibition, Englishwoman Elizabeth Rambeau joins her winemaking California family, but while some see her as an unwanted "poor relation," others covet her affections, including her troublemaker playboy cousin John Rambeau.
- In order for Angela to save her empire, frantically, she calls on the expertise, wealth and influence of Peter Stavros, an old friend of hers. Prior to Maggie living in a reclusive cabin to reassemble her life, she asks Richard about their relationship, before the explosion. Father Christopher takes interest in the vineyards' field workers, which horrifies Melissa and annoys Angela.
- Cole and Melissa fight for custody of baby Joseph. Angela discovers Chase and Michael's investigations into Dr. Lantry, and Melissa tells Lance she's just using Richard.

After Lance rescues Emma from her would-be producers, she starts writing an advice column for The New Globe.

Cole is adamant about leading his life away from the family, and Maggie has no choice but to give him her blessing. Vicki goes to see Dan Fixx, whom her parents disapprove. Chase and Tony discover vineyards contaminated from the dumping at Tuscany Downs, with evidence pointing to Angela's conspiracy to ruin her rivals. Fixx confides in Vicky. Lance moves to take over The Globe.

Lance conspires with Karlotti to take over Emma's stock certificates in The New Globe. A hit man sees through Kit's disguise.

Yet, Emma show a redeeming quality to encourage her mother and her demands. Angela blackmails the valley's agriculture inspector to get Chase's vineyards quarantine, just to shut Chase down. Greg talks Angela into honoring her promise to help him get into politics. Lance is willing to show Apollonia, the real Walker McDowell. Cassandra, who is pregnant gets broken up by Richard; while Robin gives birth.
- Angela and Lance bribe a mechanic to claim Chase was drinking prior to piloting the fatal flight. Maggie's celebration for her father's return turns painful when Angela makes a startling announcement.
- After Richard rejects Carlton Travis's offer of a truce, Travis kidnaps him and Angela. After Maggie hires an old friend to plan a birthday party for Richard's son, Angela brings a puppy as a gift to the party. Confused, Francesca had listened to Angela, telling her that Chase would be very pleased. Cole wants to love Melissa enough to move in with her, especially against his parents' wishes. Richard, unsuccessfully attempts to prevent Lance from seeing Lorraine, and cautions his nephew not to hurt his stepdaughter. Francesca wants to throw a farewell party, before returning to Italy. She and Lance perform the tarantella dance, and scolds her family for greed and hatred. Jean-Louis helps Francesca by stealing her agreement from Angela's safe. Prior to the evening, Gustav's henchmen follow Julia, seize her and drive off.
- Chase finds Lantry when Lance betrays Angela. Richard's reputation takes another blow when Osborne is murdered on his property.

When Tony Cumson returns to the valley, he is appalled at the condition of his former wife, Julia, as Angela moves quickly to keep him out of the family.
