- Stella and Victor meet in Europe, fall deeply in love, and marry soon thereafter. Senior and Junior's solution to save their marriages is to finance Carlos' career in the farthest-away place they can find, and still effect a reconciliation with the wives.

The ailing Michael is shocked to death by his wife's confession of hate, and Marquette tries to destroy the express stations. Sam, with the aid of a friendly Indian tribe, finally wipes out Marquette and his gang, and returns to St. Joseph and Ann, the woman he loves.

But as the year progresses, Alan falls in love with Beverly, befriends Squint and decides he doesn't want to die. But how can he convince North to allow a 100 grand to slip through his fingers?
- Because of a bad investment, Captain and Mrs. Peabody are evicted from their home. Mrs. Peabody finds lodging at a retirement home, but as only single women are allowed, the Captain has to make other arrangements.
