- Forty-two-year-old Lorenzo finds himself out of work. Through an ad placed in the local newspaper, he gets a job as a helping hand for an aging homosexual poet who can barely manage on his own. From this moment on, Lorenzo juggles his strange line of work with the life he leads alongside his long-suffering wife and his secret encounters with Faustina, his lover. Everything goes awry from one day to the next due, amongst other things, to some compromising photos and an unexpected funeral.

From that moment on, everything becomes complicated: love appears without prior warning, violence generates more violence, friends turn out not to be what they seemed to be and money changes hands.
- A woman's father dies in a Central American country and leaves her a bizarre inheritance: a ship which acts as a floating brothel under the appearance of being a restaurant. Alejandra, our heroine, decides to put an end to the ship's dissolute activities and use her inheritance as a school. Customers, cooks, waiters and the girls will meet her idea with considerable resistance.

Each of the members of the group, little by little, yield to their petty, selfish impulses: violence, power, nostalgia - The breakdown of one of the trucks forces Michele and Nadia to wait at an oasis for the arrival of spare parts. But a starving local tribe settles threateningly near them. The chief of the tribe makes a speech they don't understand, which is followed by a macabre purification ceremony.
