He feels like he is helping Dre "get out," so he leaves the baggie in Dre's car in case he decides to change his mind. The fact that his friend has placed him in this situation has risen Dre's anxiety/paranoia. Dre doesn't want to disrespect Walt but knows that his ultimate goal is to escape his current reality. Dre decides it's best to leave his friend Walt so he can remove himself from that situation, but on the way home he's confronted with another obstacle which is a local Oakland police officer. Dre must remain calm despite knowing how quickly one wrong move can result in him having his body destroyed.
