Few actors can honestly be designated a living legend, but Bruce Dern is one of them.
Starting out on television and with Roger Corman in the '60s (you can watch his amazing recollection of this time in the terrific documentary "Corman's World"), Dern would star in a string of Westerns, including "The Cowboys," where he shoots John Wayne in the back; anchor a big-budget sci-fi movie with "Silent Running"; and get nominated for an Oscar for his performance in "Coming Home." Dern starred in movies for Walter Hill, Francis Ford Coppola, Sydney Pollack, Bob Rafelson, Joe Dante, and John Frankenheimer. He's an actor whose scope and breadth has seen him starring in both Alfred Hitchcock's last movie, "Family Plot," and Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning, slavery-era revenge movie "Django Unchained."
But now he's about to step into the role of his career, in Alexander Payne's "Nebraska." In the film,...

Note: Do Not read on if you have not yet seen Season 3, Episode 9 of HBO's "Game of Thrones," "The Rains of Castamere."
As soon as he wrapped the bloody "Game of Thrones" scene in which his character, Robb Stark, was killed, actor Richard Madden went straight to the airport and flew home to London.
"And I cried the whole way," Madden said in a recent phone interview. "I was the crazy boy on the plane crying."
In an interview with a small group of journalists on Friday, Madden talked about how difficult it was to film the Red Wedding, a tragic event that was even bloodier on the screen than it was in the George R.R. Martin book.
Not only did Robb Stark, the King in the North, perish in Sunday's episode, but Robb's mother, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), also died -- all of which tracks with what transpired at those...

It wasn’t too long ago it was announced Pretty Little Liars was getting the franchise treatment with its first spinoff, Ravenswood, and already we’re hearing about the new characters that will be introduced and all the flaws that come with them. Teen dramas just aren’t the same if the characters aren’t as misunderstood as their target demographic claims to be. Being a teenager is difficult, but a better escape there never was than watching fictional teenagers go through way worse hells. Ravenswood adds a little supernatural spin, however, making it twice as interesting. So what do you say we get to know the first three series regulars?
According to TVLine, the first is Miranda, a feisty, disarming and unconventionally attractive 17-year-old. She’s a fiercely independent foster child with tons of hard-won confidence and plenty of wit to cover up her emotional scars. If you can...

There are some details available about three key "Ravenswood" characters, "Pretty Little Liars" fans. Let the speculation begin as to who should play them!
TV Line reports on three series regulars, who will debut during the "Pll" Halloween special, when "Ravenswood" is officially introduced as a spin-off (though there may be some hints and clues during "Pll's" summer season as well).
Miranda: A feisty, disarming and unconventionally attractive 17-year-old. As a fiercely independent foster kid, she has tons of confidence, but it was hard-won. She uses her wits to cover her emotional scars. If you can break through the tough exterior, you've got a fearless, loyal friend for life.
We feel we must add -- "Ravenswood" must have seen our dream casting, since this sounds just like who we envisioned for Miranda Cosgrove (and same name!).
Abel: This 17-year-old is a lone wolf and old soul with brooding intensity. He...

The first sneak peeks from the Revenge season 2 premiere have been released! After some time apart, Emily and Nolan reunite to discuss Emily's new plan: find out what happened to her mother. She returns to her house in the Hamptons with Nolan and tells him that Takeda kidnapped Amanda last season in order to train her to act as Emily's ally and then returned her. Unfortunately, Emily is still rather suspicious of Amanda and Takeda. Later, Emily goes to find Amanda at the Porter homestead and tells her that she's on a different path now, so she won't be needing her help. When Amanda insists that she's going to be helping Emily and staying with Jack, Emily warns her that her entire life with Jack is built on lies.
In another scene from the premiere, Daniel drinks away his sorrows, even as Conrad comes by with some good news: he's going to release Daniel's trust,...

Racism in HD? Kino Video, the leader in silent films on DVD and now Blu, is bringing the “classic” D.W. Griffith epic Birth of a Nation to Blu-ray. The film has been one of the biggest stains on cinema, arguing that the Kkk helped stabilize America into the country it was back in 1915 when the film was released, featured white actors as black characters (black-facing), as well as its bitter fight with the NAACP.
But can its dark history be looked past for Griffith’s ground-breaking camerawork that changed cinema forever? That’s the immortal question. Either way, Kino will do a superb job on the film, as we can see by its extras:
- The Making of The Birth of a Nation (1992, 24 min. Produced by David Shepard)
- Filmed prologue to The Birth of a Nation (1930, 6 min. Featuring D. W. Griffith and Walter Huston)
- Civil War Shorts directed by D.

What a whirlwind of an episode last night’s double-eviction was! Big Brother first showed the viewers the last minute efforts that Dani had up her sleeve in order to gain Shelly and Adam’s votes. While Dani got Shelly to accept the fact that a final three deal with Jeff and Jordan would not lead her to the final two, Shelly’s wise words to Adam did not sway him in the least. His trust issues with Dani were much too strong which is odd considering that if Dick were still in the game and Adam ever a true ally instead of enemy number one, Dani would have been one of his closest allies. Anyway, we found out that Shelly’s strategy of feeding information for trust did not work as well as she may have thought this week. It all seemed to be working perfectly after she spilled...

All together now: awww. Which is quite a different reaction than we normally have to this cutie's famous father. He may be the heir apparent to one of the biggest names in reality TV, but this tot—who turns 4 years old next week—is clearly a cut above. And as for that adorableness? His trust fund may afford him plenty of things, but credit where it's due: We're chalking this genetic lottery win up to his model mama. So who is he? It's Barron Trump! The son of Donald and Melania Trump, this socialite-in-training is already a veteran on the New York scene, this week donning his best junior designer duds to attend the 19th annual Fao Schwartz Bunny Hop fundraiser...
