- Mr. Gussle takes Mrs. Gussle to the department store to do some shopping. While Mrs. Gussle goes about her shopping errands, Mr. Gussle can't help but cause havoc for the store employees and other customers, most specifically one young unwitting female customer who is at the embarrassing end of one of his pranks. But the nature of their shopping trip changes when Mr. Gussle spies a young woman and her father in the shoe department. - Gussle and wifey enter a department store; his cane, clumsiness, and wandering eye get him in trouble. Farcical vaudeville bits revolve around ladies' undergarments, the store's payment balls, holes in socks, foot powder, smelly feet, and a fan. Gussle's overtures toward a young woman upset her portly husband (and later Gussle's wife), leading to fisticuffs, mayhem, the arrival of police, and Gussle's attempted getaway with his new love.—<jhailey@hotmail.com>
- Gussle and his wife go shopping. While Gussle's wife is trying on a suit, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis enter. Gussle starts a flirtation with Mrs. Lewis. Lewis wanders to another part of the store, and Mrs. Lewis discovers that she has no money with which to pay for her purchases. Gussle comes gallantly to her rescue. He and Mrs. Lewis leave the store together, get into an auto and drive away. Mrs. Gussle and Lewis pursue them in another car. A wild ride takes the wrongly assorted couples over the mountains and across the gullies, till at last one of the machines goes over a precipice and is smashed into a thousand pieces. A minute later the other car drops off a pier into the ocean and floats out to sea, its inmates clinging on like barnacles.—Moving Picture World synopsis
