- Three men, disillusioned in love and intent on getting away from all women, rent a cabin and retreat there. But the young woman who owns the cabin, unaware that it has been rented, is on her way there to escape from an unhappy engagement.
- When Sylvia Weston is asked to take a vow to marry her aunt's choice for a husband, she responds "I do NOT" and goes to her deceased father's country home at Loon's Lake. She finds three suppers prepared, at which she nibbles, and then falls asleep. She is awakened by three women-hating men who rented the house from Sylvia's agent to find a place where they could be away from women, as each had bad romantic experiences. Sylvia's elderly nurse arrives and the two women agree to remain in the caretaker's house. After the men drive away, canoes full of women head for the island, as does a male youth attracted by Sylvia's bathing suit. The three men become fond of Cylvnia. The youngest, Christopher Kent, is visited by a married women who had earlier deceived him, but Sylvia jealously scares her away by claiming to be his fiancée. Christopher and Sylvia realize that they love each other and are serenaded at the end by the other men.—AFI
