Originally three reels, but cut to two after lukewarm receptions by preview audiences.
Some of the newspaper headlines that appear when Lloyd is reading about local burglaries were real headlines of the time. One was "Poles Victorious" and it refers to Poland's victory in the Polish-Soviet War, which ended in 1921. Another headline, "Germany Invaded!," refers to France occupying several German cities because France contended that Germany was not fulfilling its obligations under the 1919 Treaty of Versailles.
Harold Lloyd married his co-star Mildred Davis on 10 February 1923. They remained married until her death on 18 August 1969. They had three children.
The scene where Lloyd is trying to fill the baby bottle is a great opportunity to see how he copes with the prosthetic glove on his right hand after losing his thumb and index finger two years earlier in an accident.
