- Mine manager Grat Hawkins' secret partner is a robber known as "The Lone Bandit." After the bandit robs a stage carrying ore from the mine, the owner's young son, Buddy, decides to investigate. When he also is robbed, he mistakenly believes that the bandit is Tex Marshall, who is courting Buddy's sister, Anne, and has an uncanny resemblance to the bandit. Later, Buddy investigates further and overhears Hawkins and the bandit laughing about the resemblance to Tex. Buddy then realizes that Tex is not the bandit, but before he can leave to report his findings, he sneezes, thus alerting Hawkins and the bandit to his presence. Buddy is then kidnapped. Later, while searching for the real bandit, Tex hears Buddy's cries and is able to free him. The real bandit later escapes using Anne as a shield, but Tex's dog Wolfheart comes to the rescue and disarms the bandit.
