According to film historian John Bengtson, at least one sequence was shot in the alleyway behind 1640 Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood, Los Angeles. This same filming location was used in a pivotal scene for The Kid (1921), in which The Tramp first discovers the titular Kid as a baby; it was used for scenes in Safety Last! (1923) and Cops (1922). In recognition of its role in major works of three important silent comedians (Charles Chaplin, Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton), this alley was designated the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd Alley in 2021.
