Live from the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, it’s SummerSlam 2015!
Lilian Garcia introduces host Jon Stewart and we’re under way! He drops a Beastie Boys reference and hypes up the show. ‘I’ve spent sixteen years talking about politics, it’s nice to be back in reality’. WWE? Reality? This is clearly a WWE-scripted intro, then. Huge boos for Cena’s name. This crowd is going to eat him alive. Mick Foley is brought out- cheap pops imminent…yup, there it is. They riff with each other for a while and it doesn’t really go anywhere. Still, nice to see Foley and Stewart looks up for this.
After the customary video package, it’s time for our first match…
Sheamus Vs. Randy Orton
Good choice for an opener. Orton went for an Rko early, but Sheamus bailed and cut a ringside promo and fans looking stupid.

Last week we found out that Dolph Ziggler’s WWE contract is set to expire soon. Ziggler, who has not been utilized as a main event star in a while, is reportedly mulling over leaving the biggest company in wrestling for pastures new.
Dolph obviously has the talent. He can put on great matches with almost anyone. The 2014 Survivor Series was one of the last real chances that he was given to steal a major show and the reaction he received was phenomenal. Down 3 on 1 against Team Authority he mounted a memorable comeback (with slight help from Sting) that could have vaulted him back into a major program. It didn’t.
Dolph should be frustrated with his spot in the company right now and like his friend John Morrison before him, the grass could look greener on the other side. Outside of WWE, Ziggler would create himself a ton...

The history of any wrestling Championship is bound to be a bumpy one, replete with scripted swerves, real-life screwjobs and backstabbing politics…
Great, legendary heroes stand astride their respective eras like titans, relinquishing their belts only for storyline purposes, or else as a ceremonial rite of passage to make the next big star.
Some would-be WWE Champs never quite transition to the big time (usually a mixture of bad booking, audience reaction, or both) and others still have had the world handed to them on a plate, but simply lacked the knowledge or wrestling ability to take full advantage of what was on offer…
Every once in a while, though, a WWE superstar becomes truly deserving of that title and embarks on a journey into the annals of legend. These greats; men like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Bruno Sammartino will forever be indelibly linked with their respective eras,...

When Dolph Ziggler won the World Title one night after WrestleMania 29 he received one of the loudest ovations in WWE history. Fans appreciated him for his hard work and cheered for the biggest moment of his career even though he was a heel at the time. His title reign was short due a concussion he suffered and ever since then he hasn’t received much of a push. Fans keep wondering why.
A new report from PWInsider notes that his injury history, particularly with concussions is the big reason why he isn’t being pushed more. The feeling internally is that WWE can’t push Ziggler and trust him as a top guy because he’s injury prone and he’s had a history of taking time off. This applies to a few other talents as well like Christian, who is currently not being used at all.

Just less than a year ago Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money In The Bank Contract the night after Wrestlemania to become World Heavyweight Champion. Fast forward to now and Ziggler hasn’t feuded with anyone for a good while, is rarely seen on Monday Night Raw and is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the WWE’s plans.
Ziggler is quite simply one of the finest performers on the WWE roster at the moment and it is a crime that he isn’t featured regularly on WWE television. He’s got an incredible arsenal of moves, can make you fell empathy through his selling and can make just about any opponent look good.
In that respect, it is understandable at his frustration within the company, which he has aired rather publicly recently, taking to Twitter to complain about the production team editing out...

After last week’s stellar performance, it seemed WWE was starting to get what was behind the bearded wonder also known as Daniel Bryan. Bryan continues to be one of the most popular superstars of the modern era of the WWE. The “Yes” chant has transcended the world of sports entertainment into popular culture reaching into other venues. T-shirts and other merchandise seems to have permeated through the crowd at WWE events. And his talent and skill go unmatched by few on the roster. The question is why do they want to put him in the mold of a PG Steve Austin? I guess I better start at the beginning.
The show begins with Brad Maddox coming out along with the Chairman. Maddox apologizes for his stupid decision of letting John Cena decide his own opponent for SummerSlam. Vince goes into the reasons why Daniel Bryan should not be WWE Champion.

Over the last few weeks, Raw has been very entertaining to say the least. With the rise of Daniel Bryan, the disintegration of the Punk- Heyman relationship and Kaitlyn and Aj battling it out, the show has felt more vibrant. However, even with all those elements still in play the show felt a little lackluster then in previous weeks.
The show begins not with a recap of last week as has been customary for the last few months, but with a cold open with Vickie Guerrero. The managing supervisor announces the champion versus champion main event with Alberto del Rio and John Cena.
This would lead to a showcase of great WWE and World Champions of their perspective eras. I like the pomp and circumstance of it all, but I think more often than not, regardless of how you hype the match it just doesn’t matter like used to.

WWE is, and always has been a dog-eat-dog company set inside a dog-eat-dog business where superstars must crawl and scratch their way into prominence. When fellow competitors fall to injury or suspension (or worse, talent cuts), especially those at the top of the proverbial ladder, new opportunities open for those waiting in the wings.
Recently, WWE announced the suspension of both Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, two of the company’s top performers. With a host of changes coming down the line for the sports entertainment conglomerate, could the plight of two men become the fortune for others?
Let’s take a look at five key WWE superstars who could wind up benefiting greatly from the untimely (although temporary) departure of The Apex Predator and the self-proclaimed Best in the World, and discuss how they could rise to the top.

The 25th anniversary of the popular pay-per-view, WWE Royal Rumble 2012 is the catalyst for many of the biggest feuds heading into WrestleMania Xxviii. Headlined by the beloved Royal Rumble Match itself, this year’s event features 30 WWE Superstars both past and present, including “The Awesome One” The Miz, five-time WCW Champion Booker T, “The Great White” Sheamus and “The Viper” Randy Orton, all vying to be the last man standing and win the opportunity to headline “The Showcase of the Immortals”, WrestleMania Xxviii.
WWE Champion Cm Punk puts his title on the line against “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler, in a match where interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis is the Special Guest Referee. Ziggler has been riding a wave of momentum heading into the show, and the gifted grappler will be looking to capitalise on the potentially crooked officiating of Laurinaitis to dethrone “The Straight Edge Superstar” and win his first WWE Championship.

Tonight's show is guest-hosted by Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos, portraying Moe, Larry and Curly, in promotion for their new movie "The Three Stooges." Back in 2009, Raw tried to one-up "Saturday Night Live" by having a new guest host every week -- it resulted in the single worst year of WWE programming ever. Lame comedy skits with disinterested celebrities hijacked the show each week. The only consistent wrestling we got for a year, was the always-predictable John Cena, perpetual "underdog" who never actually loses.
Last week, WWE delivered what I called the "best post-WrestleMania Raw ever." The challenge always comes with the week after that. This show is like December 26 and Christmas is never farther away. With the return of Ufc sensation Brock Lesnar, perhaps WWE will turn the tide of years past and deliver an exciting show. The only thing standing in the way is the Three Stooges.

With around 30 titles to choose from on launch, there is more than enough depth in choice to satisfy even the most cynical of commenters, and for once it seems those who choose to buy the console early won’t be left kicking their heels until the really good showcase titles arrive on the market.
