    'Bull' Stanley : [to Spade]  You and Mike go on - I'll stay.

    'Spade' Allen : [With cards he has taken from inside his hat]  We'll cut high card to see who stays.

    Mike Costigan : All right but no trioks. This is a gentlemen's gane.

    Mike Costigan : [after Mike and Bull draw, Spade draws an ace of clubs for himself]  Why you low down horse thief. You cheated.

    'Spade' Allen : [Mike and 'Spade' glare at each other but Bull shakes 'Spade's' hand and 'Spade' throws his ace away. Spade's last word to his friends]  Don't tell the little gal - let her think I made it the other way 'round.

    Mike Costigan : [Mike realizes he won't be seeing Spade again and hangs his head, ovrcome with emotion]  Goodbye, 'Spade.' It's been a long, long trail.

    'Spade' Allen : Goodbye, Mike - You been a good partner...

    Mike Costigan : [Before leaving Mike gives him his plug of chewing tobacco]  That oughta last ya.
