- The Christmas celebration of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
- A santa costumed Oswald rides on his horse through the snow. Meanwhile at an orphanage a nurse reads from the book «The Night Before Christmas» to a crowd of children in their beds. When the children have supposedly gone to sleep the nurse hears «santa» ringing his bell and sneaks out of the room, unaware that the children are following her.
Oswald having arrived outside the orphanage, he lengthens his horse's hind legs, thereby making the horse able to carry him up a ladder to the roof of the orphanage, where a couple of chimney pipes stand. Oswald, at first wondering what to do, then drags himself up by the head until he gets as slim as a stick, and stoops into one of the pipes, landing in normal shape inside the house, where the nurse meets him. The horse comes after, but even after Oswald and the nurse both have pointed out that the horse must be quiet, the clumsy horse falls twice, ending with a "BANG" both times.
The film then cuts to a couple of the children riding a mini fire van inside the house, stopping by the end of the room, which is on fire. One of them tries to steer a water hose, but it goes in all directions. One of the flames comes to life and tries to drag the child into the fire, the child trying to resist.
Overlooking the orphanage in total from outside, we see that the building is all on fire, and that the children are running out - scared, but in patternly fashion - and eventually also Oswald. Standing some distance away, first Oswald is at a loss what to do, then he takes a water hose connected to a fire hydrant, intending to quench the fire. But once he has walked nearer to the building, one of the children delightedly release the hose from the fire hydrant and instead connects it to the faucet of a gasoline truck. When Oswald then lets loose the «water» and it meets the flames, the whole building blows up.
