Norman learned nothing from his treatment at the loony bin.
After watching Bates Motel Season 5 Episode 1, it's almost impossible to understand how he's a functional young man outside the confines of the motel property.
There's never been any doubt that Norman Bates was going to wind up a terribly mentally incapacitated young man, but he puts a whole new spin on crazy.
Somehow, Norman has managed to do things like buy shower curtains and log guests in and out of the motel. Sometimes he remembers doing it, others he doesn't.
Norman's lucid when he goes to town to buy paint for the motel, even telling his new friend, Madeline, that his mother passed away and he runs things by himself. But at home (and sometimes outside the house), he's living a dual life with and as Mother.
It's sometimes confusing for me, so it's bound to be impossible for poor...

We've all heard the motto, "Early to bed, early to rise makes a man (or women) healthy, wealthy and wise."
Well, that's actress/singer Mandy Moore's go-to rule.
"I never really experienced that part of my life where I wanted to go out and stay out super late. I've always been quiet and kind of boring. But, I don't' apologize for it anymore. I go to bed early and I wake up early. I feel most productive during the day. I need to start my day right and I'm going to get the bulk of my day done before ...

Source: Columbia Pictures These days, you barely have to remember to set your clocks forward for daylight saving - your smartphone and laptop will do it for you. But that doesn't mean it's so seamless for our sanity. The national tradition of messing with our external and internal clocks dates back to Benjamin Franklin. The founding father thought waking up early was virtuous, and he's credited with coining the phrase "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." But the practice of forcing people to "Spring forward" did not come until 1918, during World War I, as a way to save energy. It was soon abolished after but came back as "war time" in 1942. After the Second World War, it was up to each locality to decide, until the Uniform Time Act of 1966, which set up time zones. Since then, most states have followed the...

So you might have heard Bruce Willis was recently asked about the prospects of a fifth Die Hard film. And as it happens, by next year there will, in fact, be a fifth franchise installment. (My guess for a title: Early to Bed and Early to Rise, Makes a Man Healthy, Wealthy and Die Hard). A script has even already been written! But a fifth Die Hard? Seriously, how unlucky can one guy be? (Myself included.) The prospects for a fifth entry in a film series do not exactly have the best track record -- but there are some exceptions. To put this all in perspective, Movieline has developed the indispensable Fifth-Movie Installment Spectrum™ to shed some light on what Die Hard 5: Fools Rush in Where Angels Fear to Die Hard is up against.

Ever-quotable media mogul Ted Turner did not disappoint when he turned up to speak at this weekend's Produced By Conference (sponsored by the Producers Guild of America) at the Twentieth Century Fox studios. In a wide-ranging conversation, he talked about getting his billions and millions "mixed up," the role of television, operating on gut instinct, raising 55,000 bison, and the paramount importance of saving our endangered planet. "I don't watch much TV," he said. "I'm too busy trying to save the world." His secret of success: "Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell and advertise." Amy Dawes reports: The goal of enlisting entertainment industry storytellers in his attempts to save the world was behind Ted Turner’s appearance Saturday at the second annual Produced By ...
