No macaroni for lunch

A short by Marc Allégret who would enjoy a long career later on;if it were not for its star,Fernandel, the movie would be totally forgotten....which would be too bad ,for there's plenty of fun in this Mini "Théâtre De Boulevard " ;never a dull moment and a final line which really hits home!

Monsieur Pivoine (= peony)-Fernandel- and his missus are waiting for Monsieur Bouchamiel (= honey mouth ),a man who can provide him with the money he needs for his business. The maid gives in her notice ,but no matter ,Mrs Pivoine puts on her apron and replaces her (you'll tell Mr Bouchamiel I'm gone to see my sick mom").While the host goes shopping, the guest begins to woo the would be maid ;he also tells her nasty things about her hubby (who is a moron, but it's not his fault ,in his family ,there has been an idiot for generations!);then he laughs at his missus (therefore herself ) who is a vixen,a shrew ;all people around are always exchanging gossips about them .

Funny situations: Zenobie, the maid, cooking macaroni while listening to "Plaisir D'Amour " (joys of love) to the radio she paid on an installment plan with her masters' savings .

A smart businessman ,Pivoine suggests the slogan be written on toilet paper;"they won't have enough time" retorts his so called friend -sometimes they will ,it may take some time .This scatological prank is similar to that in "Les Meilleurs Amis Du Monde" (Julien Rambaldi ,2010)

In fact, the three characters had been talking at cross purposes for a quarter of an hour without realizing it!I say it again, the last line is a winner!
