'Maurice Evan''s first film.
Originally, this was shot as a silent film. Before it was released, scenes were re-shot with dialogue. Many non-speaking scenes were retained, however. Tondelayo's wig is noticeably shorter and straighter in the shots where she speaks, compared to scenes shot without dialogue.
The film had it's American premiere at the George M. Cohan theatre in New York city, 21 February 1930.
