Lineup Announcements
– BAMcinématek has announced the full lineup for the ninth annual BAMcinemaFest (Jun 14 – 25, 2017), which features 24 New York premieres, one North American premiere, and two world premieres. Opening the festival on Wednesday, June 14 is the New York premiere of Aaron Katz’s “Gemini.” This year’s Closing Night selection is the New York premiere of Brooklyn filmmaker Alex Ross Perry’s fifth feature, “Golden Exits.”
Other highlights include “En el Séptimo Día,” “A Ghost Story,” “Landline,” and “Whose Streets.” Check out the full lineup here.

Byo Cup Day wins big at Mobius Awards for Leos Melbourne
Leo Burnett Melbourne was the stand-out Australian agency at the 2012 Mobius Awards for its Byo Cup Day campaign for client 7-Eleven.
The campaign won three first places, one for Branded Content/Entertainment, one for New Media-Social Media and a third for the Byo Cup Day Integrated Case Study for Integrated Campaigns. The agency previously received a Silver Lion at Cannes for the campaign.
The agency also won a first place in Direct Physical Mail for Box of Curiosities, a promotion for The Famous Spiegeltent.
Rounding out Leo’s awards was a second place certificate for Outstanding Creativity for bike company Giant in the Direct-Other category.
Australian agencies picked up a total of 11 awards across the competition including two more First places for VFX.
Production company Fsm won a gold for the campaign Make It Possible for charity Animals Australia in the Cinema & In-Flight category.

Australian agencies dominated at SpikesAsia last night, with Ddb Sydney winning agency of the year and the print grand prix for Vw, Clems Melbourne claiming the creative effectiveness grand prix for Nab ‘Break up’ and 303Lowe winning the top prize in the promo and activation category for Ikea.
Host, which was sorely disappointed to only win bronze at Cannes for its Kiwi Sceptics mini-series for Air New Zealand, won the branded content grand prix.
In the category for production companies, Aussie contenders won gold, silver and bronze.

Animation company Sixty40 has appointed British designer and creative Angus Chad as director, alongside founders Mark Simpson and Matt Taylor.
“The next step for Sixty40 is to go global, to continue to bring world-class techniques and top creative to our work. Chad represents our commitment to combine forces to realise this vision,” said Simpson.
Chad has worked as a senior designer for creative agencies, television stations and post-production houses. His award credits include Gold, Promax Europe: Best Themed Campaign (2008); Gold, Promax Mumbai: Channel Branding (2009); Silver, Promax New York: Best Branded Block (2009); and nominations for Promax UK: Channel Branding (2009) and Design Week TV/Film/Video Graphics Channel Branding (2010).
