I Don't Care What She Decides
boblipton7 February 2021
Adrianne Allen has to decide which of two candidates for the same seat in Parliament to marry, the Conservative or the Labour, both of whom she has known for a long time, and one of whom she lived with.

It's directed by Miles Mander from his own stage play, and boy, are the performances stagey! It's also so symbolic in its, characters that they seem mere stick figures. Although clearly this was a hit in the West End five years earlier, it was the prurience that had them buying tickets. As it exists, it's a slowly performed and visually dull bit of film-making. While it's true enough there were lots of Hollywood movies being brought to the screen at this time with no much done in the way of making them more visually interesting, at least you got some good performances at, say, MGM and Paramount. This one doesn't offer even that.
