American actor Grant Gustin kickstarted his acting career in 2004 while still in high school. He had landed a role in the movie Rain, in which he played the role of a mute young man who helped a man solve the mystery of his wife’s murder with visions he was getting. The director/producer, Neil Grochmal, had said that Gustin would have a great future in acting, and he wasn’t wrong.
Years later, Gustin did what could be regarded as one of the most important roles he has played to date. That role is none other than that of the DC superhero character Barry Allen, popularly known as The Flash. This role catapulted him to fame, and for those wondering if he would ever return as The Flash, he has put forward one condition under which he would do so.

It would be an understatement to say John Lennon and George Harrison had some issues with each other. John felt he deserved credit for getting one of George’s songs released as the B-side of The Beatles’ “The Ballad of John and Yoko.” The latter song did well despite its edgy lyrics.
The connection between The Beatles’ ‘The Ballad of John and Yoko’ and ‘Old Brown Shoe’
The book All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono features a 1980 interview. During the interview, the “Instant Karma!” singer said he didn’t like his unflattering portrayal in George’s book I, Me, Mine. John recalled times he looked out for George.
“I made sure George got the B-side of ‘The Ballad of John and Yoko,’ I think,” he said, referring to George’s song “Old Brown Shoe.” “And those little things he doesn’t remember.

As Skidrow frontman Sebastian Bach sat down after a long day of metal rocking to enjoy some MTV, an energetic pretty boy suddenly appeared before the eyes of Bach. And all he could think was, “What the f*ck is a Bon Jovi and What the f*ck is with all those teeth?”, as smiling was not exactly considered cool amongst the metal-heads of the time. And we can’t forget Twister Sister frontman Dee Snider, who believes that he can pin point the exact moment that metal started to become less metal….when Bon Jovi smiled, creating what many like to call “happy metal”. While others say that Bon Jovi’s music brought a fresh new light to the genre causing millions of other smiles to spread throughout the world. Not being completely miserable and angry all the time was a bold controversial move in the world of rock...

Even though it’s received reverent reviews from music critics, Ringo Starr criticized The Beatles’ “Rain.” He compared it to other songs that feature his drumming. While “Rain” was a hit in the United States, it didn’t even chart in the United Kingdom.
Ringo Starr said The Beatles’ ‘Rain’ is ‘certainly different than 99% of’ his work
During a 2015 interview with Goldmine, Ringo discussed his drumming on “Rain.” “It’s not my best playing; it’s just different,” he said. “I played ‘Rain’ and I’ve never played like it since or before it. It’s very busy for me.”
“I always tend to take the fill half-time whereas with that song it was full-on [smacks his hands] fast!” he added. “If anyone asks me about my strangest drumming, it’s ‘Rain.’ I don’t think it’s the best I ever played and I don’t think it’s the most inventive...

A true retrospective performance, the career-spanning setlist touched on all eras of Madonna’s career and featured numerous songs that hadn’t been performed in decades. Songs like “Justify My Love,” “Bad Girl,” and “Rain” were performed for the first time sine 1993, while “Bedtime Story” was dusted off for the first time since 1995. Great music can be difficult to understand. For example, Petula Clark’s “Don’t Sleep in the Subway” baffles the star who sang it. Notably, the oblique lyrics of “Don’t Sleep in the Subway” made it fit in with numerous other songs from the 1960s.

Ringo Starr became a world-famous drummer after joining The Beatles in 1962. While he didn’t often play solos for the band, he shined in heavy songs like “Helter Skelter” and “Rain.” He has been playing drums since he was a kid, but he never practices. However, he always got better the more he consistently played.

Some people must practice tirelessly to perfect their abilities, while others are naturally gifted. They have an exceptional talent that they improve upon whenever they use it. That appears true with Ringo Starr, who has played the drums since childhood.
Starr has had several outstanding performances on the drums from his career, and he selected one in a conversation with Modern Drummer. In his response, the former Beatle said he never practices but keeps improving as he gets “more comfortable” with playing.

John Lennon wanted The Beatles’ “Rain” to be even more experimental. John said some of his songs were “big scenes.” The singer’s vision for the track could have ruined it. John Lennon | Michael Ochs Archives / Stringer
The Beatles‘ “Rain” doesn’t reflect John Lennon’s original vision. During an interview, he said he wanted the song’s lyrics to be unintelligible. If John got his wish, “Rain” would have been much worse.
John Lennon wanted The Beatles’ ‘Rain’ to be almost entirely backward

The Beatles set an impossibly high bar for groups that followed them. They had dozens of top-100 hits during their brief but prolific career, and even when they abandoned songs that didn’t work, they performed well for other artists. Several of The Beatles’ non-album singles became incredibly successful. Let’s look at five of them that went to No. 1.

Jimmy Page wasn’t just a guitar player in Led Zeppelin. He wrote or co-wrote nearly all of the band’s songs. He set the artistic vision for the band. Oh, and he produced and mixed all their albums to make sure the sound coming through the speakers matched what he heard in his head. He was an artistic visionary in his own right, but Page copied a Beatles recording trick on the Led Zeppelin song “No Quarter.”
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page | Michael Putland/Getty Images Jimmy Page copied the same trick The Beatles used on ‘Rain’ for Led Zeppelin’s ‘No Quarter’
Page formed Led Zeppelin to push the boundaries of what was possible in music. He made playing guitar with a bow a mainstream move. The control room at the recording studio became like an extra instrument. His behind-the-scenes work on “Whole Lotta Love” made the psychedelic freakout section a mind-bending experience.

While many artists were satisfied with releasing lackluster B-sides, The Beatles always ensured every single had a stellar A-side and B-side. Sometimes, the fab four liked the B-side more, but the studio would decide the A-side appealed to a broader audience. Still, The Beatles weren’t shy about sharing when they believed a B-side was better. Here are three B-sides that The Beatles liked more than the A-sides.
‘Rain’ The Beatles
“Rain” was released as the B-side to “Paperback Writer” in 1966. It was a minor hit, reaching No. 23 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It’s one of the weirder but more underrated Beatles singles, as it has a unique sound created by experimenting with a tape recorder. The Beatles would play sped up but slow it down on the recorder to get the desired tempo.
Ringo Starr considers “Rain” one of his favorite songs and his best drumming performance with The Beatles.

The Beatles achieved their first taste of fame at a time when singles were more important than albums. The short players didn’t require a huge investment from music fans in terms of money and time. Listeners were more likely to buy singles, which made them more lucrative. The Fab Four helped make albums complete artistic statements, and some of their most famous album songs weren’t singles. On the flip side, some of The Beatles’ best songs got left off studio records. Let’s look at seven of them (in chronological order).

During the 1960s, music fans would always anticipate the latest single from The Beatles, who were taking the music industry by storm. The single’s A-side was almost guaranteed to be a hit, with the B-side usually landing with mixed results. However, Paul McCartney said The Beatles always tried to deliver excellent B-sides, even if they flopped.

The Beatles had many excellent A-side singles like “Hey Jude” and “Can’t Buy Me Love” that dominated the charts in the 1960s and are still widely listened to today. However, there are a few deep-cut B-sides that many people, including The Beatles themselves, believe are better than the A-side they were on. A few examples of these include “I Saw Her Standing There”, “I Am the Walrus”, and “Rain”.

It’s hardly a stretch to say The Beatles dominated the 1960s, especially from 1963 onward. Their energetic debut album, Please Please Me, bowled over young English music fans. The United States finally caught up nearly a year later with the Fab Four’s historic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The fact that The Beatles had 71 songs land in the top 100 of the Billboard singles chart is as impressive as their 20 No. 1 hits.

A lot goes into making an album, but some fans believe bands do even more work than is apparent by slipping hidden messages into their songs. Some of these supposed secret transmissions from musicians are nefarious or conspiratorial, while others are relatively benign. Regardless, here are three bands that some believe placed hidden messages in their songs.
Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, and Brian May | Express Newspapers/Getty Images The Beatles
John Lennon sparked conspiracy theories when he admitted to placing a backward message in a song.
“On the end of ‘Rain’ you hear me singing it backwards,” he told Rolling Stone in 1968. “We’d done the main thing at Emi and the habit was then to take the songs home and see what you thought a little extra gimmick or what the guitar piece would be.”
From there, fans began poring over the band’s lyrics in search of other hidden messages.

Shortly after an AI-generated duet between him and Drake caused an internet tizzy, The Weeknd has recruited his frequent collaborator Future for the very real track “Double Fantasy.” It’s part of the soundtrack to The Weeknd’s new HBO drama series The Idol.
The Weeknd first performed a version of “Double Fantasy” during the first weekend of Coachella, bringing up Metro Boomin’ to presumably perform Future’s parts. Now, you can hear the studio version below. Update: The Weeknd has also shared a video for the song which features footage from the show.
The Weeknd created The Idol along with Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim. The singer also stars in the series as a nightclub owner and cult leader who pursues a rising pop star named Jocelyn, played by Lily Rose-Depp. Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, and Blackpink’s Jennie Ruby Jane also help round out the stacked cast.

It only takes about five minutes of conversation with Chad Stahelski, the director of all four “John Wick” movies, to realize that he’s a passionate cinephile whose unique combination of influences is what gives the “Wick” franchise its distinct look. While Stahelski’s devotion to Sam Peckinpah, Sergio Leone, and other action directors might be expected, it’s an entirely different genre that provides the most important — and perhaps most surprising — basis for his work. “Everybody laughs when I say it, but I love musicals,” Stahelski told IndieWire. “Bob Fosse is a huge inspiration. Gene Kelly in ‘Singin’ in the Rain.’ We didn’t reinvent action or anything with ‘John Wick’ — we just spent all our money and time preparing Keanu to be our Gene Kelly.”

Ringo Starr saw his confidence grow as during his time in The Beatles. He started as a nervous newcomer but then grew into his role in the band. Ringo fully embraced boasting about his skill during the Abbey Road sessions, but he never wanted to sit at the mixing console working on Beatles albums for the most Ringo of reasons.

The Beatles‘ music videos went to some strange places. These clips paved the way for music videos to become a more dominant art form in the 1980s. While The Beatles’ music videos influenced later generations, some of them are loaded with 1960s psychedelic imagery.

“Penny Lane” is one of The Beatles’ most psychedelic No. 1 singles, so it makes sense it gave us one of their most psychedelic music videos. Some of the clip makes the titular area of Liverpool look cool, just like the song, but the video ends with the Fab Four at a quirky outdoor tea party. They wear identical red outfits that probably deserve to be more iconic.
It’s not a literal interpretation of the song’s lyrics, paving the way for artists like Nirvana and Lady Gaga to take their music videos in similar non-literal directions.

Sleep Token have announced a new album, titled Take Me Back to Eden. In advance of the album’s May 19th release, the UK experimental metal act has shared the new single and video “Vore.”
The mysterious band has amassed a viral following via a string of recent singles. The track “The Summoning” alone has more than 16 million global streams, thanks in part to a co-sign by pop superstar Demi Lovato, who shared a Spotify link to the song with her 140-plus million Instagram followers.
Often tagged as “alternative metal,” Sleep Token transcend that somewhat generic labeling, combining djent, Deftones-y melodic metal, and progressive pop. The new single “Vore” is a strong example of this multi-faceted sound.
Much of Sleep Token’s allure comes from their reclusiveness. “Sleep Token notoriously do not speak to the press,” reads the press release for Take Me Back to Eden. And the cloaked central...

With hindsight, we know Ringo Starr was a crucial piece of the puzzle for The Beatles. Yet he sometimes lost sight of that fact. When Ringo complained about being the fourth wheel, the other Beatles gave him a bigger role on Rubber Soul. Never mind that his steady timekeeping and versatility helped the Fab Four win scores of fans around the world. Ringo praised his drumming as the centerpiece of the song “Get Back,” and he was right on the nose with it. Maybe that complaining and more prominent role on Rubber Soul and later albums paid off.

Ringo Starr’s Beatles bandmates often overshadowed the drummer. The timekeeper born as Richard Starkey shined on several occasions, but John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison took the spotlight much of the time. Ringo got it wrong when he said young drummers would never get anywhere listening to his playing. But he always got it right with his Fab Four beats. Ringo also got it right when he praised his drumming on The Beatles’ song “Get Back” while giving John Lennon’s guitar playing a backhanded compliment.

Ringo Starr songs rarely made the cut on Beatles albums (he wrote two Fab Four tunes). His playing almost never received the credit it deserved, either. Ringo’s drumming — subtle and situated perfectly in the song — often made him the most overlooked member of The Beatles, and yet there were very few places in the world where nobody knew Ringo. Though often overlooked for his playing, Ringo’s weirdest drumming happened in the studio when George Harrison briefly quit the band.

Former drummer Pete Best lost interest in The Beatles when they went heavily psychedelic on 1967’s Magical Mystery Tour. Maybe he wasn’t listening to the Fab Four a year earlier.
Revolver was a watershed moment for the band as it moved away from the saccharine pop of their early days.

The Beatles often experimented with various instruments and recording techniques. Their songs often sound different, partly due to The Beatles’ innovative tendencies. For example, George Harrison often incorporated the sitar into several tracks to generate a surreal sound. One of The Beatles’ more underrated songs was created by Paul McCartney, who was experimenting with a tape recorder.
