Contrary to popular belief, Ethel Merman wasn't born a middle aged nagging loudmouth, and once was a jazzy young lady whose Broadway debut got the audiences to listen...or else! She's a saloon girl who entertains men searching for gold, which they find by the gallon in her talent! It's obvious that this glorious brunette, far from a looker, was born for the stage, and why her success on film was limited. She's just too big for film, and in a one reel short, even too big for that. She blasts the rest of the cast off the screen, whether a jazzy song entertaining the customers, or an altered version of "After You've Gone". She's part Mae West, part Fanny Brice, but every inch spectacular.
