A 35mm copy of this film survives at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A 16mm copy is held by Eastman House in Rochester, New York.
While the Yale Puppeteers get most of the credit, the majority of the puppetry is performed by Podrecca's Piccoli Theater. All of the "traditional" puppetry as well as the dream sequence were performed by the Podrecca company.
Elements of this film would later serve as inspiration for Maytime (1937) and Lili (1953).
