Very few of us would know what life was like on a long-distance train in the 1930s. This film illustrates that experience in great detail. Paul Theroux would be envious, I am sure. With a diverse assortment of characters, and several subplots going on at the same time, the film will retain your interest from beginning to end.
The acting is first-rate and the direction crisp. The story never lags, and it will be difficult for even the sharpest viewer to figure out the eventual outcome of the film. View it with your significant other for additional enjoyment.
