The earliest documented telecasts of this film took place in New York City Wednesday 13 October 1948 on WCBS (Channel 2), in Cincinnati Saturday 27 November 1948 on WLW-T (Channel 4), in Chicago Friday 3 December 1948 on WENR (Channel 7), in Baltimore Saturday 25 December 1948 on WBAL (Channel 11), and in Albuquerque Saturday 26 February 1949 on KOB (Channel 4).
Was originally green-lighted under the Carl Laemmle regime at Universal. Its seven months of location filming in Alaska was scrapped and stock footage was used.
In 1949 new footage was shot with Eve Miller and Gloria Petroff. Alfred Delcambre and Merrill McCormick reprised their roles under Fred R. Feitshans Jr. and it was released by RKO under the title Arctic Fury (1951).
