Monty Woolley: Mr. Bawltitude

Quotes

  • Bob Graham : You're not *really* Mr. Bawltitude, are you?

Mr. Bawltitude : Take your hands off me, you homicidal *maniac*!

  • Bob Graham : Et tu, Mr. Bawltitude!

Bob Graham : [continues, as Mr. Bawltitude seems confused]  Now, now. You remember me. I'm the boy who snatched your pants. Who painted yellow like nobody since Van Gogh.

Mr. Bawltitude : You do well to employ the past tense, Mr. Graham. I've had the disgusting misfortune of viewing some of your more recent daubs.

Bob Graham : And you find them without emotion and without beauty, Mr. Bawltitude?

Mr. Bawltitude : I found them custom-made to the measurements of the Idle Rich, of which class you have so obviously become a poodle, Mr. Graham.

Bob Graham : I am just batting out a nest egg, Mr. Bawltitude. I can get back to the good stuff any time I want to.

Mr. Bawltitude : Should you ever attempt to do so, Mr. Graham, you will find that in art, there is no going back. Like so many others, you have bartered away your birthright. As a painter, you are now *through*. You're a has-been who will never do another decent picture. And in the future, please understand: snatching a man's pants under false pretenses does *not* constitute an introduction. And for the present, I find your conversation, like your canvasses, *not* worth the candle.
