The name of the candy store, "Martha Washtubs Candies" (around 1:37), is a spoof on Martha Washington Candies Company of Chicago.
The last cartoon where Joe Dougherty voices Porky Pig. Starting with Porky's Duck Hunt (1937), Mel Blanc would voice Porky.
Providing the voice of the announcer introducing Petunia Pig was none other than Alan Reed who would, 23 years after this cartoon short was released in 1937, provide the legendary voice of 'Fred Flintstone.'
This is the last cartoon to feature Joe Dougherty as the voice of Porky Pig. Just like his character, Dougherty had a real life and severe stuttering problem and thus it was proven to be very problematic and expensive for the studio and crew as his recording sessions would take many hours to complete as he could not control his stutter. Mel Blanc took over the role of Porky in Porky's next film, a role Mel would assume for the next 52 years all the way to his death in 1989.
