The apartment Porky lives in is named "Termite Terrace" after the nickname the Warner Bros. animators gave to their run-down animation facility.
According to Charles "Chuck" Martin Jones in his "Chuck Reducks, drawing from the Fun Side of Life" book from 1996, this dog in this cartoon originally named Rover, is actually an early prototype of Charlie Dog. Charles "Chuck" M. Jones says that "I rescued Charlie from the Warner Bros. character pound, where he had been abandoned. He had first appeared in Bob Clampett's Porky's Pooch (this cartoon) as "Rover", but in 1947, Jones even said that "Charlie (also known as "Rover") the Dog had grown into a different dog by the time he appeared in his pictures...". and that Charlie Dog is one of his favorite characters. He doesn't understand him, but He do like him. "He is so unquestionably a dog. Charlie is merely trying to find a master and a home, which are perfectly natural ambitions for any dog. Comedy is always concerned with simple matters such as this".
