The aircraft shown on the assembly line in the Lockheed plant is an A-29 Hudson light bomber and coastal reconnaissance plane. These planes were part of an order destined for the RAF in the UK. One of them was purchased by the plant employees and gifted to the RAF and was known as "The Christmas Bomber". The other plane seen at the plant is the twin-engine, twin-tail P-38 Lightning fighter.
Jack Carson replaced Ronald Reagan before filming began after Reagan was re-assigned to Desperate Journey (1942).
The studio received permission to film inside the Lockheed Aircraft Co. in Burbank, California, but each member of the crew was required to carry a birth certificate to enter the plant.
After the end of production, Morgan, Carson and Sheridan went on a war bond tour together.
Despite the presence of film stars and crew, not one day of aircraft production was lost at the Lockheed Burbank plant.
