Nobody's by themselves, by choice.

Amusing but ridiculous Universal B comedy (with a few musical numbers thrown in) stars Evelyn Ankers ("The Wolf Man" and many other B horror classics) as a an ambitious career woman, in love with her boss, Neil Hamilton, who pretends to be engaged to psychiatrist Patric Knowles in order to save face. He's engaged to nightclub singer Rosemary Lane ("Four Daughters") who names Ankers as corespondent in a divorce case during the middle of their honeymoon, and Knowles and Ankers end up splitting as well, with everyone in Reno even though one of the couples aren't really married.

This amusing wartime programmer has some funny chauvinistic lines, particularly by client Grant Mitchell who doesn't want a woman working on his accounts (even though his product is focused on women) and Knowles who criticizes Ankers for her independent career woman lifestyle.

Dated for sure, they are still presented in a way that go for laughs rather than to bash increasing women's rights which really became forefront during World War II since the bulk of adults on the homefront were female. Louise Beavers, always a delight in anything she's in, shows how hard she worked as an actress, cleaning up Ankers' mess, even though she was just playing a maid rather than being one. Tic, Tac and Toe have a good dance number specialty. A satisfactory time filler, not groundbreaking by any means, but definitely funny as a commentary on adult relationships.
