The film came about when a producer at PRC Pictures saw fire trucks rushing past the studio to help put out a fire at a building down the street. He quickly dispatched a camera crew to the scene to film everything they could, and assigned writers to come up with a story to fit the footage. The film was in theaters several weeks later.
This film's earliest documented telecast took place in Washington DC Monday 8 September 1947 on WTTG (Channel 5) ; it first aired in Chicago on Grand Marquee Wednesday 23 February 1949 on WNBQ (Channel 5).
