John Munro : Why, Durango's scheme is bound to backfire. Everybody will be interested in getting the reward for himself. They certainly won't want to split it with a posse.
Steve Reynolds : Well, I think we can make them all pull together.
Dixie King : What are you gonna do, Steve?
Steve Reynolds : Well, this country's been in a bad way ever since the war, and $5,000 isn't gonna mean much to the ranchers. Smiley and I grubstaked Cimarron, and we're willing to donate our share of the treasure for the good of all those who need it.
Smiley Burnette : [hammering up a reward poster, hits his thumb] Owww!
Steve Reynolds : Wait a minute, Smiley, you're not hurt!
Smiley Burnette : Oh, I'm not, huh? Didn't I just hear you separatin' me from my share of that treasure? You think I'm not hurt?
