Vera Caspary also wrote the play "Ring Twice for Lora", then later turned it into a novel with a different title, which led to the famous film noir Laura (1944).
Preproduction articles in The Hollywood Reporter announced Joan Leslie and Tom Conway were to star in this picture, and another story noted Eagle-Lion was to borrow James Craig from MGM to be the male lead.
The story by Vera Caspary upon which this film is based was serialized in Today's Woman magazine in September of 1947.
