- Andy West: [toasting] Here's to an easy saddle and good riding, friend. May your boots never get dusty and your guns never rusty.
- Chris Denning: Now you wouldn't get an idea that my left hand is slower than your right, would you, Yordy? But if you would like to prove it...
- Stew Shallis: Did you ever get hit with a bullet? It's like a hunk of iron ripping and tearing into you. It sets you on fire inside. Sometimes you don't die right away. You just bleed and hurt for a long time.
- Kate Hardison: Chris, there is something or someone bigger than all of us that takes care of our injuries, and squares things for us.
- Chris Denning: I'll do my own squaring, Kate.
- Kate Hardison: Vengeance is mine, I will repay. Remember?
- Chris Denning: I also remember: an eye for an eye.
- Sheriff O'Hea: Hi, everybody! I'm serving notice on all you evildoers to make yourself scarce because the majesty of the law has just arrived.
- Chris Denning: [Voiceover of his thoughts as he sees Younger Miles for the first time] Big. Strong. Yellow hair. Blue eyes. And a scar on his right cheek.
- Younger Miles: When I pay a man, I expect him to be loyal enough to keep his mouth shut.
- Chris Denning: And if you don't pay him?
- Younger Miles: He still gets paid, some other way.
- Chris Denning: [Speaking to a man in the bar, loud enough for everyone to hear] Hey, you there. You know Mrs. Miles? I took her home last night. She was drunk. Dead drunk.
- [the others in the saloon begin to clear away]
- Sheriff O'Hea: [Walking in the door] Hi, everybody. I'm serving notice on all you evildoers to make yourself scarce, because the majesty of the law has just arrived. Well, just in time!
- Younger Miles: We can't afford to hunt him down ourselves. It ain't legal.
- Frank Yordy: Say, that wouldn't stop you, Mr. Miles.
- Younger Miles: Yordy, someday somebody's going to poke your tongue down your throat.
- Tip Henry: He said he'd come back every night and shoot up the place until I moved or got killed. And he said to tell you that he wouldn't need any Indians to help him do the job.
- Younger Miles: What did you say about Indians?
- Tip Henry: I don't savvy the Indian part. Did you know Danning from someplace else?
- Younger Miles: [Miles picks up a pair of spurs from the table and slashes Henry across the face] That'll teach you not to walk out on me, you yellow back!
- Younger Miles: [Miles catches his wife drinking again] I warned you, Abbie!
- Abbie Miles: I'm in my own home!
- [Miles slaps her and walks out just as Abbie's father walks in]
- Sheriff O'Hea: Has that ever happened before, Abbie?
- [She shakes her head and cries]
- Sheriff O'Hea: When you were a little girl, I couldn't bring myself to lay a hand on you, even to spank you, no matter how wild you got. I never thought I'd live to see the day my girl got slapped and I did nothing about it.
- Younger Miles: If you expect me to sit around and watch you tear down everything I've built up, you're crazier than I think. I've worked hard to get where I am... and done everything a man can do. I've lied, cheated and stolen. I've even killed to build this set-up I've got now. And I'm not going to let any man destroy it. Least of all you.
- Kate Hardison: Your hatred may destroy Miles, but it can also destroy you. Hate is something that can feed on itself for only so long.
- Younger Miles: I'm Younger Miles. Ernie says you can't make up your mind about working for me.
- Chris Denning: That's what I told him.
- Sheriff O'Hea: How's that lovely daughter of mine, Miles?
- Younger Miles: Abbie's fine, Sheriff. We were just talking about her.
