Initially, the idea of getting a Suicide Squad game from the studio that blessed the industry with the Arkhamverse seemed like an exciting prospect. However, things started going downhill when Rocksteady revealed that Kill the Justice League would be a live-service title.
That doesn’t even scratch the surface of all of the massive hindrances that the game had to face leading up to its release, ranging from numerous leaks to a disastrous early access launch.
All of these things definitely didn’t help Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s reputation, but it seems that even after giving the game a fair chance, the majority of players have decided to spend their time doing something more worthy of it.
The Steam Charts for Suicide Squad Aren’t Looking Good Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League only managed to reach an all-time peak of just over 13,000 players on Steam.

Director James Gunn is really running with the R-Rated side of the Dceu, despite the underwhelming showing of “The Suicide Squad”. Taking the offensive, vulgar side of “The Suicide Squad” to its logical next conclusion, Gunn’s next project is the HBO Max spin-off series, “Peacemaker” starring John Cena, reprising his role from the aforementioned Task Force X film.

We’ve always known that much of David Ayer’s vision for 2016’s Suicide Squad was chopped out of the theatrical version of the movie, hence why fans are so desperate for Warner Bros. to share the director’s cut of the film. And now, the director has revealed just how much was lost from the theatrical release, claiming on social media that the first 40 minutes were left on the cutting room floor.
Ayer often responds to fans on Twitter, answering their questions about what he had planned in SS that we never got to see. This Saturday, one person asked him: “What was the toughest scene to leave on the cutting room floor?” Ayer simply responded: “The first 40 minutes.” Ouch.

We didn’t exactly get a trailer for The Suicide Squad at DC FanDome last weekend, but we did get a sizzle reel, combining behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the cast and, yes, some material from the movie itself. And these clips may have revealed more than we initially thought. Fans have picked apart the sizzle reel and it looks like it might actually unveil the identity of the film’s main villain. And they’re a classic DC antagonist that we didn’t expect to see in the Dceu anytime soon.
At the 0:45 mark of the reel, which you can watch in the player above, you can see Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Idris Elba’s Bloodsport standing near what appears to be a soldier with a peculiar gas mask on his face. Well, at first we thought it was a gas mask. But fans are now convinced...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers from “Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier,” a new book by Mark Frost, and “Twin Peaks: The Return.”]
To get right to it: For anyone interested enough to click on this article, “Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier” is almost certainly worth reading in full. (And with the holidays coming up, why not put it on your wish list?) Engrossing, efficient, and with just the right amount of personality, Mark Frost’s 145-page novel provides both necessary and superfluous information related to the series — especially “The Return” — all of which can be digested quickly and enjoyably.
Framed as a report from FBI Agent and newly inducted Blue Rose Task Force member Tamara Preston (played by Chrysta Bell in “The Return”) to her boss and FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole (David Lynch), the book consists mainly of case files. Most cover individuals ranging from Shelly Johnson to Windom Earle, but there are also sections on The Double R Diner, Twin Peaks (the town), and a briefing near the end simply titled “Today.

Harvey Weinstein is banned for life from the Producers Guild of America.
The guild took what it called the “unprecedented” step of permanently barring Weinstein as now more than 50 women have come forward to accuse the disgraced mogul of sexual misconduct spanning decades.
The PGA’s board of directors voted unanimously to expel Weinstein earlier this month, giving him 15 days to appeal. Instead, Weinstein resigned his membership. On Monday, the guild announced its national board voted unanimously to ban him for life.

With Harvey Weinstein gone, the entertainment industry operates under a new ruler: The gut check. He’s now a punching bag to represent abuse by powerful men, but now the real work begins. What about everyone else?
“Harvey is aberrant, to be sure, but no anomaly,” veteran screenwriter and USC professor Howard Rodman wrote me in an email. “He’s a rapist, but not the only rapist in our industry, and not the only serial predator by a very long shot. If we use his evident and overweening guilt to exculpate the rest of us, this will be for naught. What’s needed is a sea change. And maybe — just maybe — its time has come.”

Ben Stiller is feeling "really happy" and healthy these days.
The 51-year-old actor was a guest on Wednesday's episode of the Today show, where he gave fans an update on his health following his battle with prostate cancer.
"I'm three years, now, cancer-free," Stiller said. "And I'm really happy that getting the word out there, about the PSA [prostate-specific antigen] test, has actually made a little bit of a difference, I think. A lot of people talk to me, and also the United States Preventive Services Task Force changed their guideline and recommended that you speak with your doctor about taking the test. So, I think it's a good move."
The PSA test is a blood test that's primarily used to screen for prostate cancer. It measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. Stiller, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer after taking the test, is now advocating that more testing be done for men.

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop is under fire from watchdog group Truth in Advertising for “deceptive” health claims on over 50 of their products.
Truth in Advertising (Tina) announced Tuesday that they’ve investigated Goop’s marketing tactics, and found that “the company claims, either expressly or implicitly, that its products (or those it promotes) can treat, cure, prevent, alleviate the symptoms of, or reduce the risk of developing a number of ailments,” according to a press release.
“The problem is that the company does not possess the competent and reliable scientific evidence required by law to make such claims,” the release says.

Even with true stories, I don’t expect a TV series or movie to get every fact right. But the Discovery Channel series “Manhunt Unabomber” disrespects achievements of the “Unabom” investigation by creating a predominantly fictionalized story. The eight-part, Tuesday night series on the Unambomber that began August 1, comes up considerably short on the truth when it comes to a minor player on the Unabom Task Force (Utf) — Jim Fitzgerald, an FBI profiler and forensic linguist — who is portrayed in the series as a key investigator who broke the case and was involved in key aspects. It’s just not true.

So in that affable way of his that can be equal parts endearing and insufferable, he asks his going-on-23-year-old coworker, Freddie Sykes (Jake Wardle)—a U.K. to U.S. transplant who, like James, is a security guard at the Great Northern Hotel—to explain why he's always wearing a green gardener's glove on his right hand. "Tell me the story," he says to Freddie. The young man obliges the birthday boy with a captivating tale ("you ain't gonna believe me anyway," he prefaces) of a man in the sky called The Fireman, who told him to buy the glove,...

Twin Peaks Recap is a weekly column by Keith Uhlich covering David Lynch and Mark Frost's limited, 18-episode continuation of the Twin Peaks television series. It's great to be in the know. To have a moment (hopefully more than one) when the veil drops and, per that old song, the mysteries of love (of life) come clear. Part 12 of Mark Frost and David Lynch's revived Twin Peaks opens with just such a scene, as FBI Agent Tammy Preston (Chrysta Bell) is initiated into the Blue Rose Task Force by her superiors Albert Rosenfield (Miguel Ferrer) and Gordon Cole (Lynch). The references Albert drops—to things like "Project Blue Book" and to people like "Chet Desmond"—will be familiar to any Peaks obsessive who has pored over the original series, the Fire Walk with Me movie, or Frost's 2016 tie-in novel The Secret History of Twin Peaks. But remember that...

The Japanese branch of Warner Bros has been investing for quite some time in the mainstream Japanese movie industry, mainly through the distribution of Takashi Miike’s and action films based on manga. In that fashion, the “Death Note” franchise was an obvious choice, as one of the most commercial of the last decades.
The film is available for pre-order from Madman Entertainment
“Light Up the New World” takes place ten years after the events of “Death Note 2” and follows “Death Note: New Generation” in terms of theme. King Shinigami seems to consider the mayhem spread by Yagami Light delightful, and has scattered six new notebooks around the world. Unavoidably, the bodies start piling up again, and the Death Note Task Force is resurrected once more. As new Shinigamis appear along the new owners of the notebooks, chaos is being spread in even worse terms than before, particularly after a...

Mariska Hargitay, who is outspoken about causes relating to survivors of sexual and domestic violence, addressed Capitol Hill recently about the the national rape kit backlog. The “Law and Order: Svu” star testified before the new Bipartisan Task Force to End Sexual Violence on June 16 about the fact that a significant number of sexual assault evidence kits, colloquially known as rape kits, go untested by police departments and crime labs. Each kit contains DNA evidence collected from the body of a victim of sexual assault, and so the backlog means that crimes aren’t being prosecuted. “These are not...

Season 12 was one of change for the Bau on Criminal Minds. Sure, the team has had members leave before, but not to this extent. Morgan left last season, Hotch left at the beginning of this season and not only did we get two new agents, but a new Unit Chief (though fortunately someone very familiar) as well.
Prentiss returned to the team and took over leading it. Luke Alvez was brought in from the Fugitive Task Force as the hunt for the escaped convicts continued. When Emily found room in the budget, she brought in someone she knew from the Behavioral Analysis Program, Stephen Walker. Sure, it all worked when it came to getting the job done, but the team dynamic wasn't the same. And while change can be a good thing, there can be too much of it. That was the case here.

Most people know very little about their thyroid at all, let alone the health problems that can affect it. (The thyroid gland is in your neck, by the way.) But thyroid cancer is being talked about today more than ever, thanks to celebs like Brooke Burke-Charvet and Sofia Vergara, who both had the disease, and Robert Ebert, who died in 2013 after fighting thyroid and salivary cancer for years. Now Shark Tank star Daymond John has revealed that he was diagnosed with stage II thyroid cancer, and underwent surgery to have a nodule removed.

A former Virginia doctor allegedly killed his nurse girlfriend, who vanished more than two years ago and hasn’t been seen since, People confirms.
But the attorney for 39-year-old John E. Gibbs tells People the state has no evidence to support the charges, and that her client is merely the victim of overzealous investigators.
Zulma Pabon, 26, was last seen alive on June 6, 2014, according to a statement from the Chesterfield County Police Department. The licensed practical nurse was leaving her job at Commonwealth Fertility and Women’s Health at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center.

After last week's gun control episode, and secondary focus on Wild Dog, will fans finally get to see Prometheus again, or will Arrow focus on another member of the team instead?
Oliver and Diggle begin the episode by going to visit Justin Claybourne's former wife in order to gain information on her son who they presume is Prometheus. Claybourne's former partner alludes to the fact that their son may actually be Prometheus. I still think this is a smoke screen. The mother hadn't seen her son in 4 years, so I think this is the writers' way of distracting the true identity of Prometheus. I'm glad they began the episode with the focus back on the main villain. This is an area that needs to pick up in order for the ratings to increase.

Marvel's Black Panther started shooting in Atlanta this month, and some photos from the set of the film have surfaced. They show us a new logo design for the film and confirmation that Martin Freeman will be reprising his role of Everett K. Ross, the Deputy Task Force commander of the Joint Counter Terrorist Center, who first appeared in Captain America: Civil War. There are also photos featuring other actors in the film including Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, and Lupita Nyong’o.
There's no information on how big Freeman's role in the film will be, but I hope it's bigger than his Civil War turn. The guy is super talented, and it would be a shame to waste that talent. You can check out the new logo and a few set photos below.

The Blacklist has now calmed the storm and entered into its new status quo…which is really more like a return to the previous status quo. Elizabeth is an agent again, She and Tom are happy together with Agnes, and the task force has a new, Reddington-less mystery to solve. At the beginning of season 12, Luke Alvez joined the team from the Fugitive Task Force.
