The voice for Punkinhead Martin, who was also the caller for the Sourbelly Trio, is sometimes credited to Stan Freberg and sometimes John T. Smith, but Michael Barrier claims we really don't know who the voice is.

The following scenes have been cut from some TV prints:
On ABC, this cartoon was majorly edited to remove several violent scenes: 1) Curt Martin shooting Bugs Bunny's carrot full of holes after Bugs mistakes the gun for a camera; 2) Curt untying the barrels of his rifle and gets blasted in the face; 3) Bugs reverses the barrel of Punkinhead Martin's gun so that Punkinhead gets blasted in the face; 4) A dazed and blackened Curt says, after he and Punkinhead had been tricked by Bugs into lighting a lighter in a shack full of explosives, "I think y'all are using too strong a fluid."; and 5) Bugs Bunny sings a verse during the square dance scene in which he bids the hillbillies to hit each other with fence posts and poke each other in the eyes.
