Like its better known predecessor, Berkeley Square (1933), this film was tied up in rights entanglements that prevented it from being shown on cable (Fox Movie Channel would be the place to see it), or released commercially on DVD. It was finally released on July 29, 2008, as part of Fox's "Tyrone Power Matinee Idol" DVD collection.
The framing story which takes up the first two reels (2000 feet), and the last reel (1000 feet) is in black and white; the rest of the film is in Technicolor. Producer Darryl F. Zanuck admitted that he borrowed this idea from The Wizard of Oz (1939).
Irene Browne reprised her role as Lady Anne Pettigrew from the original film Berkeley Square (1933). She is the only actor to appear in both films.
The original Broadway production of "Berkeley Square" (on which the film was based) opened at the Lyceum Theater on November 4, 1929, ran for 229 performances.
