In the Olympics scene when The Vice President is introduced, the band played "Hail To The Chief." Proper protocol is to play "Hail Columbia" and not "Hail To The Chief," which is reserved for past presidents, the present president, or the President Elect.
The Opening Ceremonies of the 1912 Olympics did not include the raising of the Olympic flag (started in 1928) or the lighting of the Olympic flame (started in 1936).
The Olympic opening ceremony footage is from the 1948 London games. When Thorpe receives his medal, the peristyle end of the Los Angeles Coliseum (1932 & 1984 games) is clearly in the background.
